[01] DISY leader expresses satisfaction with Euro elections results2205:CYPPRESS:31DISY leader expresses satisfaction with Euro elections results Nicosia, Jun 13 (CNA) -- Rightwing Democratic Rally party (DISY) President Nicos Anastasiades expressed tonight his satisfaction and appreciation to the people of DISY who led the party in the forefront of the political powers on the island. Addressing a jubilant crowd at the party headquarters in Nicosia, Anastasiades conveyed the message that DISYs doors are always open for members who had chosen a different party or group. He told reporters that the people of DISY and the citizens in general made the right evaluation about a political party which led our homeland to Europe and decided to honour it today with its vote. Anastasiades said that as of tomorrow we are all together, even those who had chosen another party, grouping or even an independent candidate for any reason». He thanked party officials for their relentless work and said for us DISY is the first political movement with a difference and we will maintain this as it is now, united. [02] DEKO Deputy President satisfied with Euro election results2230:CYPPRESS:32DEKO Deputy President satisfied with Euro election results Nicosia, Jun 13 (CNA) -- Centre-right Democratic Party (DIKO) Deputy President Nicos Kleanthous expressed satisfaction with the results of the European elections on the island today, noting an incrsase in his partys power, something which proves an endorsement of DIKOs policy. In statements prior to the official announcement of the results, Kleanthous said this increase gives the party a mandate for a more dynamic and protagonistic role to promote the citizens' interests in Europe and on the island. He also expressed appreciation to the partys voters as well as to the political parties in the centre which supported the Democratic Party, namely the Struggling Democratic Movement (ADIK), the Movement to Restructure the Centre, the Free Citizens Movement and the Eurodemocratic Renewal Party (KEA). We will continue the cooperation for a political coordination both on the Cyprus problem but also to form a unified political expression, said Kleanthous. He said DIKO looks to the future with optimism and certainty and called on everyone to work together to achieve the aims and pursuits of our people.
