NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

WASHINGTON - The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik stated in Washington exclusively for SRNA that he had had talks in the framework of the visit to Washington with important political factors and persons of the State Department and White House, which resulted in unambiguous support of the U.S.A. for stabilisation of the situation and further economic development of RS. Before leaving Washington Dodik said that the meeting with the State Secretary of U.S.A. Madeleine Albright have resulted in urgent help of $5,000,000 for the RS Government to enable it to solve social problems, first of all to pay outstanding salaries of the workers.

NEW YORK - The RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik warned American officials during the four days' visit to U.S.A. that he and his Government would resign if promised financial help for RS would arrive slowly or would not arrive at all - as it has been so far. The U.S.A. State Secretary Madeleine Albright promised that $5,000,000 of help for Dodik's Government would come regularly as long as RS actively implemented the Dayton peace accord, adding that the project of the American Agency for International Development would be expanded as well.

CLEVELAND - Administration of the U.S.A. President Bill Clinton supports the work of the RS Government, while, on the other hand, it is totally unsatisfied with the situation in B&H. Commenting the visit of the RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik to U.S.A., the spokesman of the State Department James Ruben announced that the State Secretary Madeleine Albright "felt favourable climate and fresh air which RS Prime Minister brought". Ruben emphasised that official Washington has positively assessed promise of the RS Prime Minister that 70,000 of refugees would be able to return in RS before September, and that all accused of war crimes would be tried before the Hague war crimes tribunal.

ZVORNIK - The Minister for Refugees and Displaced Persons of RS Miladin Dragicevic confirmed attitude of the RS Government that none of refugees and displaced persons had to move out from buildings in which they are currently settled until accommodations were provided. "This stance had been accepted by the international community too", Dragicevic told participants of the public tribune "Position of refugees and displaced persons regarding current political situation in B&H" in Zvornik.

BANJALUKA - The RS Minister of Defence General lieutenant colonel Manojlo Milovanovic called all citizens to hand over all armament in the legal term. "I know for all Serbian troubles with armaments, but I am calling all citizens of RS to listen to me and register the armament until March 19. Then it would be decided what to do with it", appealed the Minister of Defence, emphasising that all war material have to be placed in military storehouses.

BELGRADE - The German Ambassador to FR Yugoslavia (FRY) Vilfrid Grubber stated for "Democracy" that the help German Government and partners from EU were giving RS and her citizens was a proof of urgent reacting on readiness of the RS Government to implement the Dayton peace accord. "What effect the international support will have on realisation of the new Government's programme hangs in the balance", Grubber said for the Belgrade's daily.
