NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of the Dayton B&H, Momcilo Krajisnik, talked in Pale with the deputy High Representative, Michael Steiner, about the problems and issues to be discussed at tomorrow's session of the Presidency in Sarajevo. "The Serbian side pointed at the dangerous tendency of some representatives of the international community, who have been working on the establishment of the Central Bank, to form it on the way not called for by the Dayton agreement and outside the existing solutions", SRNA learns from the president Krajisnik's Cabinet.

SARAJEVO - Western powers are anxious to settle a volatile dispute over the town of Brcko without upsetting the fragile peace process or relations within the NATO allies, stated a western diplomat who wanted to be unnamed. "It appears that the Americans have come around to thinking that any change in the status quo would cause instability not just in that area but for the whole Dayton architecture", he claims.

TUZLA - An explosion damaged a bridge in the village of Celici just inside Republika Srpska (RS) near the boundary of the Muslim/Croat Federation, the Stabilisation Force (SFOR) said. It was unclear what type of explosive was used but a three-foot of electric detonation wire was found at the site and culprits have yet to be identified, SFOR said.

SARAJEVO - An equal treatment of Republika Srpska and the Federation of B&H, at which the leadership of RS have been warning the international community, also means an equal investment into the reconstruction and development of both entities. The World Bank and other financial institutions have been - either in the form of returnable or unreturnable loans - investing their money in the Federation exclusively, probably wishing to strengthen its position, says SRNA's journalist, Dubravka Blagojevic, in a commentary.

ZAGREB - The administrator for the Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Srem, general Jacques Clein, stated for a Croatian TV that he will answer to the requirements of the Serb from this area, which were sent to him because of "the letter of intention" by the Croatian Government. As Clein said, some of the Serb requirements are acceptable, while the request for the territorial intactness of this area "is not realistic".

SARAJEVO - The end of the Sremsko-Baranjska district is the end of the Republic of the Srpska Krajina (RSK) and the beginning of "a historical dream" about the ethnically purge Croatia where it is possible to breathe a "pure Croatian air". According to the state of affairs, the Serb areas of the Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Srem will be - after the local elections to be held on March 16 - joined to the Osecko-Baranjska and Vukovarsko- Sremska district, while the Serbs could start a new exodus. According to their well-known scenario, Croatia has been behaving in the style "we are going to give you all the rights on the paper only, while in the reality we will do everything so that you leave your homes", says SRNA's reporter, Sonja Lakic, in a commentary.
