"I received the information on minister Jenkic's death with a grief. In the name of the RS government and in my own, I send the letter of condolence to the government of the Republic of Montenegro and to his family", says Klickovic in the letter.BELGRADE - The Information Service of the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade reports that the former RS vice-president, Nikola Koljevic's health condition "is without any changes in regard to the previous day". According to yesterday's report by the same service, Koljevic was in a critical condition. STOCKHOLM - The High Representative for the Dayton B&H, Carl Bildt, is preparing for the return to the Swedish political scene, reports Reuters. There are some who point out that many Swedens felt better when they heard this announcement. They say that his absence "has left a blank" and that the conservative party needed Bildt's lead so that it would prepare itself for the next year's elections. ZVORNIK - Last week, the Muslim Army commanders, Naser Oric and Semso Muminovic, visited the occupied Serb villages of Dugi Dio and Mahala, in the Municipality of Zvornik, confirmed one of the senior IFOR officers who wanted to be unnamed. He was not able to explain the purpose of their visit, but it is assumed that Oric, the former leader of the Muslims from Srebrenica, who committed numerous crimes against the Serbs, visited his units that found shelter in Tuzla after they had fled from Srebrenica. BERLIN - In the magazine "Novo, a German journalist, Thomas Deichmann, who have been reporting from the former B&H for four years, gives the numerous examples of western journalists publishing the statements of phony witnesses, and especially of Roy Gothman who was - for the anti-Serb lies - awarded a Pulitzer prize for journalism. Deichmann points out that Gothman characterised Omarska as "a death camp", although he did not at all try to check his claim on the spot. "Not even one of the 350 reporters who tried to check Gothman's information was able to find any evidence for the allegations in his reports. The prisoner-of-war camps were held by both Croats and Muslims, but not by the Serbs only", reminds us Deichmann. BONN - One of the leaders of the Zajedno [Together] coalition, Zoran Djindjic, stated in Bonn that protests which are going on in Belgrade are the symbol of political and economic reforms that are needed for such a long time, reports DPA. Djindjic explained that "because of that, the protests that are going on for almost nine weeks, will not be discontinued", and added categorically: "We are not going to yield". He did not exclude the possible violence on the part of the Serbian authorities against demonstrators, believing that "if this happens the opposition will not be able any longer to assume the responsibility for the peaceful continuation of the protests". German foreign minister Klaus Kinkel who received Djindjic in Bonn said that his Government is backing the members and leadership of the Zajedno coalition. BELGRADE - The UN special rapporteur, Elizabeth Rehn, stated that she was given in Belgrade the firm guarantees that none of the refugees will be forcibly returned from Yugoslavia to the places where they lived before the war. "I requested the Serbian commissioner for refugees, Bratislava Morina, gives me the firm guarantees that refugees will not be against their will returned to their former homes all until their safety is guaranteed", stated Rehn at a press conference in Belgrade. SARAJEVO - The Serbian Movement of Resistance of Kosovo- Metohia expressed its concern with a protest being organised by the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) due to an assassination against Radivoje Papovic, the rector of the University of Pristina, "because protests and announcements are not the way to fight against terrorism, but by the functioning of institutions and services". "We are concerned with this terroristic act and we are energetically opposing the SPS's manipulations over this event. It is not up to the current regime to organise demonstrations and condemn terroristic acts by announcements trying to justify non-responsibility and incapability of its authorities to find out the culprits". "The incapability of Milosevic's authorities to find out the perpetrator of these crimes provokes suspicion who the real criminals are and who stands behind them", says the announcement. /end/Copyright © Srpska Novinska Agencija - SRNA Republika SrpskaFrom the Serbian Unity Congress Server at http://www.suc.orgSrpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next Article |
