[01] CRISIS BETWEEN TURKEY AND LIBYA - UTKAN, SPOKESMAN OF FOREIGN MINISTRY: - ''INCIDENT IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR US''ANKARA, Sept 12 (A.A) - Necati Utkan, Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry, confirmed on Friday that a group of seperatist terrorist carrying pictures of Abdullah Ocalan, the leader of the organization, had participated at the parade organized for the anniversary of the Revolution in Libya on 1 September, stressing, ''the incident is unacceptable for us.''Responding to the questions of the journalists, Utkan also confirmed that Mufit Ozdes, the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, who witnessed the incident, had immediately left the place where the celebrations being held. Utkan reminded that the Ministry has recalled Ozdes for consultation for an indefinite period in order to protest the incident. [02] SEPARATIST TERRORIST ATTACK ON VILLAGERS IN AGRI, KILLING ONE PERSON AND INJURING TWO OTHERSAGRI, Sept 12 (A.A) - Separatist terrorists attacked on villagers who were working in a field in Cumacayi District in Akdana Village of Agri Province, killing one person and injuring two others, it was reported on Friday.Officials told the A.A correspondent that two separatist terrorist opened fire on Nihat, Yasar and Latife Gorun. Nihat Gorun was killed during the incident. Yasar and Latife Gorun were taken to the Erzurum Aziziye Research Hospital. Operations are underway in the region in order to capture the seperatist terrorists. [03] RELATIONS BETWEEN TURKEY AND ARGENTINA - THIRD POLITICAL CONSULTATION BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES, HELDANKARA, Sept 12 (A.A) - The third political consultation between Turkey and Argentina was held, it was reported on Friday.The Foreign Ministry's statement pointed out that Turkey aims at improving existing political, economic and cultural cooperation with Argentina within the framework of ''Opening Policy Towards Latin American Countries''. Turkey's opinions about the international and regional issues were conveyed to Argentine side during the negotiations between the delegations of the two countries led by Tansu Okadan, the Director General of Bilateral Political Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, and Jose Pedro Pico, the Political Coordination Director of Argentine Foreign Ministry. [04] THE WHIRLING DERVISHES CHARM AMERICANSNEW YORK, Sept 12 (A.A) - A group of the whirling dervishes, charmed Americans with their dance performance in the entrance of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, it was reported on Friday.The dervishes are in New York for the calligraphy exhibition of Sakip Sabanci, the President of the Sabanci Holding, composed of 70 pieces of artifacts which reflect the period between 15th and 20th centuries in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Hundreds of people watched the performence organized under the auspices of Turkey's Permanent Representative to the UN. The whirling dervishes have been organizing the dance performances named ''sema'' for more than 700 years. The sema is known as providing harmony and discipline between body and soul. The sema which is described as ''submission to the God'' by the Sufis, has also social and moral functions. The whirling dervishes wear white garments and black conical hats. Their hats named ''sikke'' symbolizes the grave stones. The dervishes take off their hats during the sema performance to symbolize rebirth of human-being in the world. The dervishes' greeting each other with great affection, is the symbol of the holy love between human and the God. [05] DONATION FROM JAPAN TO TURKEYANKARA, Sept 12 (A.A) - Turkey and Japan will sing an agreement with exchanging notes for the assignment of aid worth of 350 thousand US Dollars within the scope of Japan's annual cultural donation to Turkey, it was reported on Friday.The Foreign Ministry statement pointed out that Metin Goker, the Director General of Cultural Affairs, and Atsuko Toyama, the Japanese Ambassador to Turkey, will sign the aggrement on Monday. [06] THE SOUTHEASTERN ANATOLIA REGION MAKES EXPORTS OF 46.5 MILLION US DOLLARS WITHIN FIRST EIGHT MONTHS TO THE TURKISH REPUBLICS IN CENTRAL ASIAGAZIANTEP, Sept 12 (A.A) - The Southeastern Anatolia Region made exports to the Turkish Republics in the Central Asia of 46.5 million US dollars with an increase of 30 percent, within the January-August period, it was reported on Saturday.Exports of 35.7 million US dollars were realized in the same period last year. Officials from the Southeastern Anatolia Union of Exporters told the A.A correspondent that grains and pulses worth 8.6 million US dollars, dried fruits worth 67 thousand US dollars and textile products worth of 37.7 million US dollars were exported within the first eight months of this year. A 14.2 million US Dollar part of the exports was realized to Kazakhstan. Carpets, flour, sweet-cake, biscuit, chocolate, candy, margarine and sack are among the most exported goods. [07] PRESIDENT DEMIREL RECEIVES BARKLEY, FORMER US AMBASSADOR TO TURKEY AND CHAIRMAN OF ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF PALACE ARTSANKARA, Sept 12 (A.A) - President Suleyman Demirel received on Friday Richard Barkley, the former US Ambassador to Turkey and Chairman of the Administrative Board of the Palace Art Foundation.Mart Epstein and Arnold Lutzler, the Members of the Administrative Board of the Foundation, were also in attendance at the meeting. [08] TURKISH-POLISH BUSINESS COUNCIL - HUSAMETTIN KAVI, CHAIRMAN OF COUNCIL, HOLDS CONTACTS IN POLANDISTANBUL, Sept 12 (A.A)- Husamettin Kavi, the Chairman of Turkish and Polish Business Council which acts within the structure of the Foreign Economic Relations Committee (DEIK) and the accompanying delegation held contacts in Poland, it was reported on Saturday.During the meetings it was decided to provide information to the firms heading towards cooperation between the two countries and to support the firms to solve the possible problems. Meanwhile Bernard Blasczyk, the Polish Deputy Minister of Economy, met with the members of the Turkish delegation and requested the deadlock at the Free Trade Agreement between Turkey and Poland to be overcome. [09] WORLD TOUR ON TIP TOE - STATE OPERA AND BALLET CONTINUES ITS TOUR IN JAPAN AND FRANCE - MODERN DANS GROUP TO REPRESENT TURKEY AT LYON DANCE BIENNIALANKARA, Sept 12 (A.A) - The State Opera and Ballet continues its world tour, it was reported on Saturday.Following the performances in Germany and Croatia, The State Opera and Ballet will maintain its world tour in Japan and France. More than 5 thousand people watched the State Opera and Ballet in the porformance named ''Dance with Symphonies'' in the six cities of Germany during a tour lasted for 13 days. Germany hosted the Modern Dance Group afterwords. The group represented Turkey successfully at the festival named ''Dance for Tolerance - Tanz für Toleranz'' in the Bonn and Bielefeld, and presented parts from the famous works such as ''Hars'', ''Rondo A la Turca'' and ''Post''. The group will take stage at the ''Lyon Biennale de la Danse - Lyon Dance Biennial'' where the dance groups from Italy, Tunusia, Greece, Spain and Israel participate at, in 22 and 23 September. The Classical Ballet Group greeted audience in Köln, Mainz, Münster, Essen, Düsseldorff and Ulm in Germany. The group that also participated at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in Croatia, will take part in the Asian Folk Dances Festival in Japan in October. [10] JAPAN TO CONSTRUCT A HEALTH CLINIC IN ADANA HIT BY A MAJOR EARTHQUAKE IN JUNEADANA, Sept 12 (A.A) - The Japanese Junior Chammer Association will construct a healt clinic in Buruk distric of Izmir Province hit by a major eathquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter Scale in 27 June, it was reported on Saturday.The directors of the Japanese Junior Chammer Association and the Association's branch in Adana have signed a protocol concerning the construction of the clinic. Dr. Cetin Yurdaer, the Chairman of the Association's branch in Adana said that this aid is just a beginning, adding that the clinic will cost nearly 10 billion Turkish Liras. Akio Saito, the Representative of the Japanese Delegation, stressed that nations should help each other in cases of disasters. [11] EXCAVATIONS IN PATARA WHERE THE BIGGEST PARLIAMENT BUILDING OF ANATOLIA, TAKES PLACE - CORINTH TEMPLE TO BE RESTORED WITH SUPPORT OF AMERICAN AND ITALIAN SCIENTISTSANTALYA, Sept 12 (A.A) - The excavations in ancient Patara city near Kas County of Antalya Province continue, it was reported on Saturday.The ancient Patara city has been declared as one of the first hundred most important sites in the world, three months ago. The excavations are carried on by a team formed by 47 scientist, including 17 Germans, in Tepecik Necropolis, Corinth Temple, Tepecik Building and Parliament Building. Patara was the capital of Lycia and Pamphilia province. Patara's Parliament Building was the biggest in the Anatolia. The building has the capacity of 6 hundred people. Meanwhile archaeologists have found a toilet belonging to the early Byzantium period, in the Tepecik Necropolis. Describing it as very ''amazing'', archaeologists told the A.A correspondent that the graveyard where the toilet was found, became a civil settlement unit later. Parts of pots, coins and several parts of statues belonging to the protogeometry period were found during the excavations. The US and Italy have provided support for the restoration activities of the Corinth Temple. The stone-temple was constructed in the style of ''Prostylos'', the temple style with four columns in front of it, during the B.C. 5th century. [12] FOREIGN MINISTER CEM LEAVES FOR IRANANKARA, Sept 12 (A.A) - Ismail Cem, the Foreign Minister, left on Saturday for Iran for an official visit.The issues of the Afghanistan problem, the infiltration of seperatist terrorist PKK organization into Turkey's lands from Iranian border, and the meeting of the Iranian, Greek, and Armenian foreign ministers in Teheran last days, are expected to be taken up during Cem's contacts in Iran. Cem is scheduled to begin his contacts on Sunday. Meanwhile The British Royal Astronomy Association has given place to the new approach of Prof. Dr. Ilicin in its magazine published in August. Responding to the questions of the A.A correspondent, Prof. Dr. Gurler Ilicin explained his new approach. Prof. Dr. Ilicin said that he has taken up the planets in ''dichotomic'' system and classified them in accordance with their distances to the sun, as 1-3, 2-4, 5-7 and 6-8. ''The product of the radius of the dichotomic planets is equal to the division of the their orbital periods (spinning periods of the planets around the sun,'' pointed out Prof. Dr. Ilicin. He added, ''the product of spin momentums of planets is equal to the division of the planets' distances to the sun.'' Prof. Dr. Ilicin also told the A.A correspondent, ''these data are regarded with the physical parameters of the disc that possibly forms the planets. Data can provide support to some theories concerning the formation of the planets.'' [14] STATE MINISTER GUREL'S STATEMENT: - ''DIVISION ON CYPRUS WILL CONTINUE IN CASE OF REFUSAL OF THE CONFEDERATION PROPOSAL''LEFKOSA, Sept 12 (A.A) - Sukru Sina Gurel, the State Minister, stressed on Saturday that it is the Greek Cypriot side who does not want the federation on Cyprus so far, noting that the division on the island will continue in case the confederation proposal of President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is refused, in his statement to the TRNC's Bayrak Television.Describing the confederation proposol as ''the last chance'' for Cyprus, Gurel pointed out that otherwise the TRNC will go on on her way with the support of Turkey. Noting that principle of two states on the island has become essential at the Cyprus negotiations following the beginning of unilateral application of the Greek Cypriot side for the full membership to the European Union, Gurel emphasized that Denktas's proposal also depends on this principle. Pointing out that those who have been implementing embargos on Turkish Cypriots so far, now try to unify two communities on the island, Gurel empasized that it is not a realistic approach to the question.
