The Software Division of the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics (CEID) of the University of Patras invites expressions of interest from qualified applicants for new faculty positions in the broad area of Software Systems including Networks, Compilers, Programming Languages and Information Retrieval.

Faculty duties of faculty members include teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, research, and supervision of theses. We are looking for exceptional candidates who hold a doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a cognate field and who would be able to fulfill all legal prerequisites for a Greek university position. CEID was the first department to be established in Greece in the areas of computer engineering and computer science and attracts some of the country's brightest students. It is noted that this expression of interest is for positions that will be requested for approval during the current planning phase; therefore the official call is not expected before the middle of 2001. It is noted that candidates must be citizens of the EU and must have excellent command of Greek that is the official language of instruction.
