LIVE CONCERT OF THE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA OF ATHENS, GREECE . . . FEATURING NADIA WEINBERG

PHILADELPHIA, PA - It is with great pleasure that the Hellenic News of America in association with The Federation of Hellenic American Societies of Philadelphia/Greater Delaware Valley, The Pan Macedonian Societies of Philadelphia, Alexander the Great Foundation, Epirotes Society of Philadelphia, Drexel University students, St. George the Cathedral, PA, St. Demetrios Church, PA, Hellenic American Academy of Aristotle PTA, AHEPA Tom's River, NJ, Hellenic University Club of Wilmington, St. George, Tren ton, NJ and the Hellenic Link, NJ, announces a Live Concert with the Symphony Orchestra of Athens, Greece featuring soprano soloist, Nadia Weinberg. The Orchestra is under the auspices of The Honorable Mayor of Athens, Dimitrios Avramopoulos, and is a critically acclaimed ensemble consisting of leading soloists and concertizing artists of Greece.

The second concert stop of the touring Orchestra, which is entitled "Beyond the Seas", is Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with the concert to be held on Saturday, March 11, 2000 at 6:00 p.m. at the Drexel University Main Auditorium, 3141 Chestnut Street, Phi ladelphia, PA.

The program for the evening includes well know American ballads, Broadway hits, and Mediterranean melodies. Greek composers Theodorakis and Hatzidakis are also featured in this moving program.

Nadia Weinberg, a Greek American soloist, has performed in over one hundred concerts in the most prestigious music halls throughout the world. She is know for her "richly cultivated voice and sweet, melodical sound."

Proceeds of the concert will benefit New House of Federation, Plant Your Roots in Greece, Hellenic Academy of Aristotle PTA, Hellenic News of America Scholarship Fund, Alexander the Great Foundation, and Pangregorian Foundation humanitarian causes.

General admission to the concert is a $50.00 donation per person and sponsorship packets are available. Tickets must be purchased prior to the event by contacting the Hellenic News of America's office at (610) 446-1463.
