The toll of the anti-occupation rally was one person dead and 41 injured: 36 Greek Cypriot civilians, three police officers and two police officers serving with one of the two British bases on the island.

Anastasios (Tasos) Isaac, a newly married 24-year old man whose wife is pregnant, from Paralimni, was trapped in barbed wire in the buffer zone and was brutally beaten to death by the Turkish occupation troops and the turkish mob with stones and sticks.

Two days later, in a second fatal attack, Turkish troops killed another Greek Cypriot demonstrator, 26-year old Solomos Spirou Solomou, and wounded 11 other people in the buffer zone of this war-divided island nation. Both of these victims were unarmed.

FELLOW members of the Greek American community, we are fortunate to be able to express our indignation without jeopardizing our very lives. Unfortunately, Tassos and Solomos did not have that luxury.

IN THEIR MEMORY, JOIN US IN A PEACEFUL PROTEST DEMONSTRATION IN FRONT OF THE TURKISH CONSULATE 4801 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90010

on Tuesday, August 27, at noon.

Let us add our voice to the world wide condemnation of Turkey for the cold blooded murders of these young unarmed Greek-Cypriots.

Turkey must no longer be allowed to ignore U.N. Resolutions, International law and commit murder with impunity.

If we all join our voices together we can make a difference......

Indifference only allows the wrongdoers to perpetuate their crimes.

Please show your concern and attend. Bring your friends !
