Skopje, 31/10/1999 (MPA) Presidential elections are being held in FYROM today, marking an end to the era of Kiro Gligorov, who has led the country since January 1991.

Six candidates are running for the presidency, although none of them is expected to win a majority of votes and thereby making a November 14 run- off seem inevitable.
