[01] TURKEY RAISES AGAIN THE "GRAY ZONES" ISSUE

Greek government spokesman Dimitris Reppas stated that a marriage can not become the ground for political discussions and further more for the creation of problems. Mr. Reppas stressed that Greece's positions on the Aegean are known and firm.

Coalition of the Left leader Nikos Konstantopoulos will attend an event in Frankfurt organized by Greeks living in Germany, while Social Democratic Movement leader Dimitris Tsovolas will tour Thessaloniki and Political Spring party leader Antonis Samaras will visit villages in the region of Xanthi in north-eastern Greece.

The three ministers expressed the will of their governments to seek the end of the crisis in Kossovo and to back the creation of the necessary pre- conditions for a permanent stability in the wider Balkan region. They also stressed their firm support to the recent initiative by the G8, underlining the need for the continuation of the humanitarian aid programs for the Kossovo refugees.

The three ministers also agreed that a temporary political framework should include the self-administration of Kossovo taking under consideration the principles concerning the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yugoslavia and the rest Balkan states.

[04] NATO CONTINUES TO BOMB YUGOSLAVIA

NATO has admitted that his forces attacked the village but it maintained that no civilians should have been in the region characterizing it as a military base.

Meanwhile, the United States announced that they accept with reservations the information on the tragedy that comes from the Serb side. The US State Department spokesman has stated that when the NATO attack took place the Serb forces were bombing the region.

Next week, Russian mediator Victor Chernomyrdin will visit Belgrade again for talks with Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic.

[05] RUSSIA REJECTED THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL DRAFT RESOLUTION ON YUGOSLAVIA

According to Russia's deputy ambassador to the United Nations Andrei Granovski, his country does not accept the draft resolution because it does not include the provision for the immediate end of NATO's illegal military action without which the achievement of true progress is impossible both in reaching a political solution and in dealing with the humanitarian disaster.

Mr. Granovski underlined that the NATO bombings resulted to the dramatic escalation of the catastrophy in the wider Balkan region and are taking place in violation of every form of international law. He stated characteristically that the humanitarian catastrophy in Kossovo is the result and not the cause of the crisis, adding that the UN Security Council has the main responsibility to preserve peace and security and it should have reacted from the beginning of the crisis.

The Russian ambassador attributed to strictly national interests the weakness of the UN Security Council members to give an essential response to the threat the Yugoslav people are facing.
