He said the G8 were particularly concerned over incidents linked with presidential elections and deeply skeptical over Iran's nuclear program endangering spread of nuclear weapons. Interesting were Barrack Obama views about economic recovery-which he did not see nearing, stressing that there was no room for easing efforts as well as the holding of fewer G8 Summit meetings. G8 leaders pledged $ 20 billion in aid on Friday to help poor nations feed themselves. Obama said Africa had enough arable land but lacked seeds, irrigation and mechanisms for farmers to get a fair price for their produce , issues that the summit promised to tackle. Africa told the wealthy powers they must honor their commitments, old and new -- mindful that some in the G8 had fallen well short of their 2005 promise to increase annual aid by $50 billion by 2010, half of which was meant for Africa. Panagopoulos kidnapping have given rise to frictions. The government spokesman stressed that people should not be influenced by rumours and groundless allegations.
