    European Road Safety Day

    13 Οκτ 2008 19:49:00

    Sources: ΝΕΤ, ΝΕΤ 105,8

The park of the new road safety education opened today in Tavros area, Athens. Ministry of Transport will provided funds for 100 more parks but only half operate. What must be stressed is that accidents were reduced in 2007 up to 30% in Greece and 50% in Europe. "The states measures are not enough to change peoples attitude", minister of Transport, Kostas Hatzidakis stressed. Reckless driving, driving in the opposite lane and inside residential areas are the main cause of accidents. This is the profile adopted by Greek drivers; a profile that can change if special road safety education is adopted from a young age.
