Stressing that the property scandal would be reviewed from scratch, Greek Finance Minister Giorgos Alogoskoufis said that the ministerial decisions that gave thumbs up for the controversial opinions issued by the states legal council on the ownership of Lake Vistonida would be revoked. He admitted that the monasteries on Mout Athos had not submitted their E9 forms, like all owners in Greece.

In the meantime, a court ruling blocked the assets of the Vatopedi Monastery on Mount Athos and its Superior Efraim. The Monasterys Council said Saturday it would deposit the profits generated from the sale of land, as well as the contracts signed, to the Deposits and Loans Fund. It also decided to place the Monasterys assets under state control until the investigation is over.
