    The Minister of the Interior, Costas Skandalidis is beginning a round of meetings with opposition party leaders, in order to brief them on the content of the electoral law. Tomorrow afternoon, Mr. Skandalidis will meet with the Secretary General of the KKE, Aleka Papariga.

    From Grevena, northern Greece, PM Simitis inaugurated the city's new hospital today. The PM underlined that the governments immediate priority will be actual cohesion of salaries and incomes.

    [04] Honoray ND president K. Mitsotakis calls for early elections

    From Chania, Crete, the honorary New Democracy president, Konstantinos Mitsotakis called for elections once again, maintaining that Greece has not absorbed the community funds and criticizing the government of being determined to do anything in order to win the next elections.

    [05] Olympic Airways flight emergency landing

    An emergency landing of an Olympic Airways flight after 35 minutes into its flight ended safely this afternoon. The flight heading from Moscow to Athens landed 35 minutes after take off following a loud noise heard on it's right side shutting off one engine. The pilot immediately landed the aircraft at an airport in Briansk, 300 klm southwest of Moscow.

    Foreign Minister Giorgos Papandreou and U.S. Ambassador to Athens Thomas Miller met today for the first time following the end of the Greek European Union presidency.

    U.S. troops may have killed Saddam Hussein's two sons Uday and Qusay in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul today in a four-hour battle at a villa according to U.S. officials.

    Liberian rebels said today they had ordered their forces to halt a blistering onslaught on the capital Monrovia, and a top government soldier said the insurgents were being driven back.

    [09] Hotel explosions rocks Spain

    Thirteen people, including several European tourists, were injured when bombs exploded at two hotels along Spain's Mediterranean coast. Authorities blame the Basque separatist group, ETA.
