    Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for most parts of the country , with conditions slowly clearing up in the late afternoon. Southerly winds, strong to gale force in the Aegean, turning to northwesterly later in the day.

    Morning showers in Athens, clearing up later in the day, with temperatures ranging between 18C to 27C, cloudy in Thessaloniki, with temperatures ranging between 15 to 23C.

    [02] Ongoing investigations into domestic terrorism

    Greek authorities temporarily released , Aggeliki Sotiropoulou, the first woman suspect linked to the November 17 urban guerilla group early on Sunday after conflicting recommendations by a prosecutor and investigating magistrate.

    Aggeliki Sotiropoulou , 40, described as the companion of the group s suspected top assassin , Dimitris Koufontinas , was arrested on Thursday after her fingerprints were found at one of November 17 s Athens hide outs raided by anti terror police in July.

    Authorities will decide whether to detain Sotiropoulou again after a court of appeal panel meets probably today.

    Commenting on allegations that the preliminary testimony of November 17 suspect , Savvas Xiros was taken under pshychological pressure, Supreme Court prosecutor , Leonidas Kroustallakis said that interrogation of suspects at all stages was carried out in compliance with judicial law and respect to human rights.

    Government spokesman, Hristos Protopappas, commenting on the same subject stressed that investigations to dismantle terrorism in Greece are being carried within the context of democratic rules and the supervision of judicial authorities .

    During his speech in Thessaloniki, the leader of the main opposition N.D party, Kostas Karamanlis expressed his party s support for the eradication of terrorism .
