    Scattered cloud is forecast in all parts of the country, with showers and storms in parts of the Ionian , the northern Aegean and on the mainland. Winds variable, light to moderate. Temperatures in Athens will range between 22C and 31C and in Thessaloniki between 20C and 27C.

    A deterioration of the weather is expected as from this afternoon starting from the northwest parts of the country and extending to the rest of the country tomorrow with strong winds and possibly hailstone rain. Improvement of the weather is expected from late afternoon tomorrow.

    The general secretariate for civil protection is on the alert to deal with any problems that might arise.

    [02] New evidence against alleged November 17 leader, Giotopoulos

    Alleged November 17 leader, Alexandros Giotopoulos telephone booklet &#8211; seized by the anti-terror police when he was arrested in his summer house in Lipsi- has brought to light new significant evidence . The booklet contained a list of 250 names of Greek and foreign nationals who helped the police find Giotopoulos and his companion close friends who have given significant information.

    In the meantime , according to a statement by Pavlos Serifis &#8211; suspected member of November 17 urban guerilla group- Giotopoulos appears to be Richard Wells executor . Pavlos Serifis also said that Giotopoulos had proposed the organisation to be named &#8211; November 17 and said that he maintained his leading role till the end .

    In his statement , another November 17 suspect-Sotiris Kondilis revealed that the organisation was planning , Miltidis Evert assassination when was President of the N.D party.

    In an interview with the state radio station NET, Miltiadis Evert said he believed the dismantling of terrorism was a common target of the Greek people and the country s leadership. He also added that not only those arrested so far could be the members of the organisation there still should be found those who gave information contained in the November 17 proclamations.

    [03] Tertiary education admission grades

    The grades for admission to tertiary education were announced yesterday. The drop in the grades is due to increasing difficulty of subjects compared to last year while the general secretary of the Education Ministry said that the results proved the counter- balance of the tertiary education entrance exams.

    In the meantime thousands of university students are in danger of loosing the September exams due to the continuing abstention of teaching staff from their duties.

    Developments in the sector of education will be the focus of talks at the inner cabinet meeting today. The N.D party is in favor of a dialogue and accused the ruling Pasok party of complete deregulation of education .

    [04] Simplification of taxation system tax reliefs for salary earners and middle size businesses

    Taxation reforms to be announced by the Prime-minister in the Thessaloniki International Fair next week will be centered on tax reliefs for the Greek family and the middle size businesses and the simplification of the taxation system. For salary earners and pensioners the tax free amount will reach 10 thousand euro while for the rest to about 9.5 thousand euro..

    [05] Measures to curb inflation

    In order to curb inflationary pressure , the Ministry of Development has decided to implement 5 protection measures , among them the establishment of invoices for agricultural products and the reorganisation of the price index Observation Service.

    It is also examining to take stricter measures if it is necessary.

    In the meantime , there was no agreement on price freeze during Development Minister Akis Tsohatzopoulos meeting with representatives of the trade sector.
