    Hot, sunny weather is forecast in all parts of the country. Winds northwesterly, light to moderate, turning strong in parts of the Aegean. Temperatures in Athens will range between 23C and 34C and in Thessaloniki between 19C to 32C.

    [02] Another November 17 suspect arrested

    Sotiris Kondilis, another suspect member of November 17,was yesterday arrested on charges of involvement in a number of terrorist actions mainly after 1990. According to information revealed by other arrested suspects he was known under the code name Aris. He is being interrogated by the anti-terror police today.

    In the meantime , Patroklos Tselentis and Nikos Papanastasiou- the second November 17 suspect after Alexandros Giotopoulos who denies all charges against him- were taken to the Korydallos prison.

    In parallel , the police are still carrying investigations on the proclamation letter- bearing the November 17 signature- sent to the Eleftherotipia newspaper on Wednesday although they believe it is not genuine.

    In an interview with state radio channel NET, Justice Minister, Filippos Petsalnikos underlined the need for the speeding up of judicial procedures to avoid the writing off of some cases.

    Supreme Court Prosecutor has ordered an investigation on the detention conditions of Alexandros Giotopoulos , following denouncements by his lawyer. Furthermore Justice Ministry sources said that the cells have been specially re designed and all measures have been taken to guarantee the safety of prisoners.

    [03] Summer mass exodus

    A mass exodus of summer vacationers is expected to reach its peak this week end. Traffic police have taken special measures to facilitate travelers using high ways . Ports are also expected to be very busy this week end as many vacationers prefer to spend their holidays on the islands .

    [04] Greece s economic development above euro-zone average

    According to the tri-monthly report of the Economics and Industrial Research Foundation, the Greek economy has maintained its high pace of development but there are still significant income inequalities.

    The report notes that development has mainly come from the increase in production resulting in the improvement of the per capita income but at a lower pace compared to the rise in the Gross national product GNP

    [05] Additional compensation to farmers hit by bad weather conditions

    The Agriculture Ministry has approved an additional subsidy amounting to 14,7 million euro in order to compensate farmers hit by bad weather conditions in December and January.

    In the meantime , Agriculture Minister, Giorgos Drys plans to ask for the European Commission s permission to grant national subsidies to Greek cotton farmers .

    [06] Coalition President asks for revision of economic policy

    The President of the Coalition of the Left and Progress, Nikos Konstantopoulos has called the government to review its economic policy , noting that according to data released by the Statistics Service there is a rise in inflationary pressure in Greece above the euro-zone average due to the rise in many food products and services.
