[01] Wildfire breaks out between the villages of Profitis Ilias and
Partheni on Crete
A wildfire broke out shortly after noon on Monday in a region between the
villages of Profitis Ilias and Partheni near Iraklion, on the southern
Aegean island of Crete.
Sixteen firemen operating 6 fire engines and a firefighting helicopter
are battling the blaze. Their efforts to contain the fire are being
hampered by the strong winds blowing in the region.
The causes of the fire are unknown.
