[01] PM to attend Berlin Wall anniversary
Prime Minister George Papandreou will depart for Germany on Monday in
order to attend events commemorating the 20th anniversary since the
fall of the Berlin Wall.
The prime minister is scheduled to fly to Berlin at 12:30, in time for
the start of celebrations marking the fall of the Berlin Wall late on
Monday afternoon. These will culminate with speeches at the Brandenburg
Gate by Germany's Federal President Horst Koehler, German Chancellor
Angela Merkel, Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit, Russian President Dmitry
Medvedev, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, British Prime Minister
Gordon Brown and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The celebrations will end on Monday night with a dinner for the
visiting heads of state and government hosted by Chancellor Merkel.
