    BRUSSELS - European Union member countries formally agreed on Friday to a deal with the United States to end a transatlantic row over U.S. anti-Cuba laws.

    NOORDWIJK, Netherlands - European officials attending a conference on promoting democracy in Cuba dissociated themselves on Saturday from the tough stance taken by the United States towards the Communist-ruled island.

    MAASTRICHT, Netherlands - The European Union and its main trading partners in the developing world on Saturday wrapped up a two-day meeting in the southern Dutch town of Maastricht with a call for a deepening of economic relations.
