  • [01] Delay threatens single currency

    BRUSSELS - European Union Monetary Affairs Commissioner Yves-Thibault de Silguy said on Tuesday that delaying the start of the EU's single currency would be a death sentence for the project as a whole.

    BRUSSELS - The European Union's monetary committee ended the first day of a two-day meeting to discuss a budget stability pact among countries joining a single currency and related issues, sources said.
