    [01] Comar poll results on type of desired solution

    KIBRIS (21.10.98) publishes the results of a poll carried out among Turkish Cypriots which showed that 38.6% of the 1372 people interviewed wanted a settlement on a two-state basis. Another 26.9% wanted bizonal federation a 8.5% wanted integration with Turkey, a 6.7% confederation, 5.7% a single Cyprus state, a 10.5% the maintenance the present status, a 0.7% other solution and a 2.4% gave no answer.

    The poll carried out by Comar gives the replies preferred both by the Turkish Cypriots and the mainland settlers.

    [02] Joint Economic ``Committee'' meeting is to convene tomorrow in Ankara

    According to KIBRIS (21.10.98) Turkish-occupied Area Joint Economic Committee is to meet in Ankara tomorrow.

    An eight man delegation from the pseudostate will leave the occupied area to attend the meeting. (MY)

    According to KIBRIS (21.10.98) a group of Danish journalists who currently visiting the occupied area within the framework of their contacts visited the offices of KIBRIS and familiarize themselves about the work being done there. (MY)
