[01] House President travels to Iran on Sunday on a three-day official visit (CORRECTION)

A corrected edited version of a news story, filed earlier on the visit to Iran by the President of the House of Representatives, follows:

The President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris travels to Iran on Sunday for a three-day official visit at the invitation of the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Ardeshir Larijani.

Syllouris will be received by the President of Iran Hassan Rouhani and the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament who will host a dinner in his honour.

During the meeting with Larijani, the Chairman and Members of the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, will also be present .

[02] UNSG will open the intensive week of negotiations of the Cyprus talks in Switzerland

Un Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will open the intensive week of negotiations of the UN-led Cyprus peace talks in Switzerland on Monday 7th November, his Special Adviser Espen Barth Eide announced on Friday.

In a written statement Eide recalls that the two leaders, Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, decided earlier this week to continue their intensive negotiations in Mont Pèlerin from 7th to 11th November. The meeting will be held under the auspices of the United Nations and with the generous support of the Government of Switzerland, Eide adds.
