[01] Health Minister to attend EPSCO meeting
Health Minister Petros Petrides will attend a meeting of the Employment,
Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO) to be held
in Luxembourg on June 21.
The Council will be invited to agree a general approach on a revision
of the directive on the manufacture, presentation and sale of tobacco
and related products (the so-called "tobacco directive"). The Commission
proposal was presented in December 2012 .
The Council will also take note of two presidency progress reports. The
first concerns a draft regulation on clinical trials on medicinal products
for human use, Medicines are clinically tested on human volunteers to
assess the safety and effectiveness of new products, test new applications
for existing medicines or to compare two treatments.
