[01] Cyprus must regain its credibility and return to growth and
competitiveness, OEB Chair says
Cyprus must obey the rules of the rescue package agreed with its
international lenders in order to avoid the impose of more severe economic
measures, the President of the Employers and Industrialists Federation,
OEB, Philios Zachariades has said.
Addressing the Annual General Assembly of OEB , in the presence of
the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades, OEB Chair said that
Cyprus must regain the credibility of its banking sector and strengthen
its competitiveness in order for the economy to return to development
and growth.
He also said that the measures imposed on the banking sector following the
Eurogroup decision on Cyprus, must be lifted the soonest possible, calling
at the same time for the reduction of interest rates for businesses.
