  • [01] Palestinian FM: We greatly appreciate Cyprus` principled stance towards the Palestinian issue

Palestine greatly appreciates Cyprus' steadfast position towards the people of Palestine and its principled stance as regards the Palestinian issue.

The remark was made by Foreign Affairs Minister of the Palestinian National Authority after a meeting he had here on Friday with left-wing party AKEL General Secretary Andros Kyprianou.

In his remarks, Malki expressed his satisfaction to be at AKEL headquarters again where they exchanged views to "see how we can continue working for benefit of peace and justice in our region, both in Palestine and in Cyprus".

[02] London meeting sends message of cooperation between two communities to reunite Cyprus

Turkish and Greek speaking Cypriots affirmed their common aim of ending the occupation of the northern part of their island by Turkey and reuniting their country, in a meeting held in London on Thursday evening.

Representatives of Turkish Cypriot trade unions on a four-day mission to London were received by the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK at the Cypriot Community Centre in north London.

The two sides exchanged views on the Cyprus issue, ascertained that they share the same concerns over the future of the island and agreed on pursuing every available opportunity to join forces against the almost four-decade long Turkish occupation.
