European funding to tackle immigration problems in countries facing
an economic crisis could rise up to 95%, following a decision by the
majority of the European Parliament.
According to two reports, in countries which have fiscal problems like
Greece, it will be possible to increase the co-funding index of the
EU by 20 percentage points, making the co-funding indicator on issues
concerning immigration to rise to 70% and in some cases, the indicator
will be able to reach 95%.
The increase in the co-funding concerns the European Refugee Fund, the
European Return Fund, the European Fund for Integration for third-country
nationals and the EU External Borders Fund.
