    The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Nicholas Emiliou will represent Foreign Minister Markos Kyprianou at the informal meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Eastern Partnership Member Countries, to be held on Monday May 24, in Sopot, Poland.

    According to an official announcement, during the meeting, the results of the Eastern Partnerships first year will be evaluated.

    The Eastern Partnership (EaP) is a project, which was initiated by the European Union (EU) and was inaugurated in Prague on 7 May 2009.

    The Eastern Partnership is an organization aiming to improve the political and economic trade-relations of the six Post-Soviet states of strategic importance - Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia with the European Union.
