    Lebanese President wraps three-day official visit

    Nicosia, Jul 21 (CNA) -- Lebanese President General Emile Lahoud wrapped up today his three-day official visit to Cyprus, during which three agreements were signed on cultural, educational and scientific cooperation, readmission of illegal immigrants and combating organised crime, and illicit use and trafficking of drugs.

    President of the Republic Glafcos Clerides bid farewell to Lahoud this morning during an official seeing-off ceremony at the Presidential Palace, in the presence of Minister of the Interior Andreas Panayiotou and Undersecretary to the President Pantelis Kouros.

    Hasikos says Cyprus must be ready to avert Turkish threats

    Nicosia, Jul 21 (CNA) - Cypriot Minister of Defence Socratis Hasikos said today that the government should be on alert, especially now that Turkey, in its effort to prevent Cyprus' EU accession, is making "undisguised threats against the island's security".

    Nicosia, Jul 21 (CNA)-- Greek Alternate Foreign Minister Tasos Yiannitsis assured today that Greece would remain a supporter of Cypriot Hellenism, in its effort for a solution of the Cyprus problem.
