    Nicosia, Jan 12 (CNA) -- President Glafcos Clerides has sent letters relating to the Cyprus question to the president of the UN Security Council, the Council's five permanent members, the UN Secretary- General and Swedish premier, whose country holds the six-monthly rotating presidency of the European Union.

    "The letters refers to wider issues and a broad approach and of course it reiterates our position that we have been and always are ready to continue the dialogue to achieve a bizonal, bicommunal federation," Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou said here today.

    [02] British envoy - Cypriot party leaders

    Nicosia, Jan 12 (CNA) -- Thoughts and approaches on the current phase of the Cyprus question and ways to help the UN-led Cyprus peace process move forward were discussed at a working breakfast today between Cypriot parliamentary party leaders and Britain's envoy for Cyprus Sir David Hannay, on a current visit here.

    Speaking afterwards, Panayiotis Demetriou, acting president of the ruling rightwing Democratic Rally, said Hannay pledged he would try and exert all his influence to see the peace process continue and that the international community continues to back a bizonal, bicommunal federation in Cyprus.
