Nicosia, Aug 28 (CNA) - The Turkish Cypriot side has so far ignored pleas from the UN to lift the restrictions it imposed unilaterally on the movement of the UN peace-keeping force in Cyprus, a senior UN official said here today.

UN Deputy Representative Zbigniew Wlosowicz told the press after a meeting with Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides that the UN is to evaluate all the facts before it and then draw its conclusions on the issue, noting that the restrictions cause practical difficulties to UNFICYP.

Nicosia, Aug 28 (CNA) -- According to the Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport, the weather forecast for Cyprus is:

Tuesday and Wenesday: 29/8/2000 to 30/8/2000

Fine with patchy cloud on Tuesday but locally partly cloudy on Wednesday with risk of isolated showers, mainly over mountains, in the afternoon.

The winds will be moderate, sea breazes and the state of sea slight to moderate.

Maximum temperature: 34° C inland and around 32° C over coastal areas. Minimum temperature: 20°C inland and around 23°C over coastal areas.

Outlook for Thursday and Friday 31/8/2000 to 1/9/2000

Fine with patchy cloud. No significant change in temperature.

Sea Temperature: 27°C
