[06] Council of Europe - Court - Turkey - Cyprus

Nicosia, May 23 (CNA) -- The execution of Court orders is very important and the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has a responsibility to implement Court rulings as well, Committee president Janson Gunnar has said.

The Finnish deputy, in Cyprus attending a Committee meeting, said the Committee maintains consistant pressure on the Committee of Ministers of the CoE to ensure execution of judgments, and warned against any waiving such executions, a move that would jeopardise the credibility of the Council's legal system.
