BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic talked in Banja Luka with members of Academy of Sciences and Arts of RS /ANURS/ about the status of this institution in Republics. The president of ANURS professor Petar Mandic stated after the meeting that the president of RS Mrs. Biljana Plavsic confirmed the programme of work of Academy and that certain demands for solving material issues were accepted, in order to create prerequisites for Academy to response to all tasks in the field of improvement of scientific activities, culture and arts. After this meeting members of ANURS were received by president of National Assembly of RS Dragan Kalinic.

SARAJEVO - The presidential, parliamentary and local elections in RS and Federation B&H as well as the elections for joint organs should be held on September 12 and 13, as anticipated by Dayton Agreement - stated the High Representative for B&H Carlos Westendorp. "Mandates of elected organs will last four years" - said Westendorp to journalist in Federal part of Sarajevo and added that September's elections would be supervised by OSCE, as well as previous.

BANJA LUKA - In Banja Luka in the Union of Syndicate of RS was constituted the Economic-social council which would deal with creating programme of economic development of Republic, considering the Law on enterprises, Law on privatisation, determination of lowest price of work and to monitor the realisation of collective contracts. It is stressed that the special task of the Council in this year would be initiating of creating the programme of social programme and equalising the level of living standard of workers and pensioners of RS with the same categories in federation B&H, through programmes of international community.

BANJA LUKA - On the occasion of the decision of Zoran /Nikola/ Zigic /1958/ from Prijedor, indicted for alleged war crimes, to surrender voluntarily to the Hague Tribunal, his defender, Banja Luka's lawyer Simo Tosic stated that Zigic decided so without any impact from aside. "My client and I have full confidence in objective and legal procedure of the Hague Tribunal and we think that it will pass just decision" - stressed the lawyer Tosic.

MOSTAR - On the occasion of requirement of the Office of High Representative of international community Carlos Westendorp for sacking the mayor of Stolac, Pero Raguz sent a letter in which he said that for failure to impalement pilot project for return of expelled people and failure of establishing municipal organ responsible Bosniak party. In the opened letter to Mr. Westendorp the mayor Raguz stresses his commitment on implementation of signed agreements and demands repealing of economic sanctions imposed to this town on river Bregava.

BANJA LUKA - The third international fair of civil engineering - first between about twenty fair manifestations which will be organised this year in Banja Luka - will open tomorrow the president of Executive board of the city Nebojsa Radmanovic, announced the organisers of the Fair. In the organisation of "Independent news" in technical realisation of Public enterprise "Glas Srpski" /the voice of Serbs/, on 2,500 m2 of exhibition space in Banja Luka's Home of Solidarity, their structural products , from March 4 to 7, will exhibit about 70 firms from RS, FR Yugoslavia, Federation B&H, Slovenia, Italia, Austria and Czech Republic.

UZICE - These days Stanka Niciforovic, a refugee from Sarajevo, who in 1992 came to Uzice, will start her new life or she at least hopes that in her refugee status will something be changed. With the credit of 4,000 dinars, in Krvavci, a village near Uzice, she is opening small farm for fostering chickens; is the report of the SRNA journalist Milica Turudic "How to bring back a self-respect?".
