SARAJEVO - The system of telecommunications in Trebevic is out of order since February 28 , at 10.00pm. Because of that telephone lines are not functioning with other parts of RS and FRY. A damage was caused by NATO bombing because shell fragments got into system, said for SRNA Mile Jankovic, the Director of RS Telecom, Srpsko Sarajevo. According to him it is expected for the damage to be fixed today.

BELGRADE - The UNHCR chief of Belgrade's Office Andrej Kazakov stated in Belgrade that refugees were interested to return and that is a solid argument in discussion with B&H and Croatian authorities. Croatia and B&H have an obligation toward refugees and they must provide free return for them. "Our intention is to encourage refugees to go back. With more requests it will be easier for us to negotiate with mentioned states", said Kazakov.

SARAJEVO - Soccer Association of RS (FS) must until March 3 submit a report whether it accepts a proposition of FIFA and UEFA about play-off with champions of Muslim and Croatian championship in order to enter the European soccer scene. This decision has been made by representatives of FIFA and UEFA and members of the OHR at the meeting with Muslim, Croatian and RS football officials on February 27, in Sarajevo.

BRUSSELS - EU lifted a ban on travelling for five RS officials placed because "the blocking of peace process in B&H", is said in an EU announcement. This decision has been made on Friday, since implementation of the new laws on citizenship and passports in B&H has begun.

SARAJEVO - The OHR spokesman Rid Atarashany confirmed for SRNA, after a regular press-conference in Sarajevo, that nothing has been found in the prison in Sremska Mitrovica, under the supervision of the International Red Cross Committee, that would confirm claims of Muhamed Sacirbey, B&H Ambassador in UN. Sacirbey claimed that fifty Muslim from Srebrenica were in the prison. The UN spokesman Alexander Ivanko said that on that day last year 80-years-old Slavko Subotic was killed by "infuriated crowd of Muslims while he was visiting graveyards in Cekrcici". Ivanko asked the Federation Police to finally, after a whole year has gone by, take some steps to clear up this case and punish the culprits.

SARAJEVO - The first commercial flight on the line FRY-B&H after 1992 connected Belgrade and Banjaluka, OHR reported. The airplane of Yugoslav Airlines (JAT) which landed in Banjaluka at 10.55 am, represents the beginning of the regular line between these two countries, international representatives emphasised. JAT and the company Air-Bosnia made a contract, anticipating several flights every week on lines Banjaluka-Sarajevo, Sarajevo- Belgrade and Sarajevo-Pristina.

PRISTINA - In Podujevo near Pristina it has been fired at the police station. According to an announcement of the Kosovo's Secretariat for Information hand grenades were thrown on several Serbian houses in Klina, near Djakovica. The attackers had not been identified yet, SRNA learns.

PRISTINA - The police dispersed, using nightsticks and water cannons, several thousands of Albanians, who had been demonstrating in the centre of Pristina. The police formed cordon within the demonstrators in order to separate them into two groups, while helicopter was circling above the place of the demonstrations. The demonstrations were organised by Albanian parties as a sign of protest against "Slobodan Milosevic's regime, terror and ethnical cleansing".

BRCKO - The International Supervisor for Brcko, Robert Farrand, has been operated in the U.S.A. - has been stated for SRNA from his office in Brcko. As it is said in the statement, the International Community High Representative for B&H Carlos Westendorp appointed Farrand's deputy, Ian McClaud, as the Supervisor, while Farrand is absent.

SARAJEVO - The French General Pierre-Henry Lange took command over SFOR's south-east multi-national division stationed in Mostar, SRNA learns in SFOR's command. Lange has already been, as a member of UN forces, in the former Yugoslavia: in Croatia in 1993 and in B&H in 1995.

SARAJEVO - Presence of the international community and especially of American troops in B&H, Croatia and the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia (BJRM), presents a guarantee for peace, thinks the expert for international relations from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Zagreb, Radovan Vukadinovic. As he stated for Croatian Radio Herzeg-Bosna, that confirms a stance of the international community that it would not allow violent secession of Kosovo from FRY. According to him, the Albanian leader Ibrahim Rugova would try to calm down the situation and gain political trust for himself.

BELGRADE - The spokeswoman of Democratic Party (DS) Aleksandra Joksimovic thinks "it is high time for both sides in Kosovo to come to their's senses and begin with dialogue, which would alleviate tensions and bring to peaceful solution of the crisis". "The authority in Belgrade by many year's ignorant attitude allowed the problem in Kosovo to escalate up to such dimensions that numerous victims are now in stake. That is why it is high time to start the dialogue which would lead to the final peaceful solution", Joksimovic said.

SARAJEVO - This month the British Government should raise charges against an officer of her Army, Milos Stankovic, suspected for alleged espionage for Serbs during the civil war in B&H and "revealing of NATO's secret documents", the New York Times writes. Stankovic was a member of UNPROFOR under a name of Michael Stanley and was link between the former commander of UN peace forces Michael Rose and RS military and political leadership.
