Belgrade independent radio tStudio Bv reported R. Karadzic will not candidate for President of the Republic of
Srpska on the forthcoming BH elections. According to BH Serbs sources, tStudio Bv claims SDS Presidential
candidate will be Biljana Plavsic, Momcilo Krajisnik will be candidate for the joint BH Presidency, and present
Foreign Minister of Republic Srpska Aleksa Buha will be candidate for the President of Republic Srpska

[02] FRY FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVES SHOULD BE FROZEN

On the last, third round of negotiations between Slovenian commission charged for legal succession of the
former SFRY and representative of international community for the succession affairs, Sir A. Watts, regarding
the division of real estate, financial sources and clearing-dollar bills, Slovenia requested frozening of all ex-YU
foreign-exchange reserves until the conclusion of the discussion on succession. Slovenian representative Miran
Mejak pointed out tpositions of Belgrade concerning the issue of succession are unacceptable, so Badinter
Commission results concerning the equality of all ex-Yu states to be legal heirs should be taken into
considerationv. Delegations of BH, Croatia, Macedonia and FRY are expected to participate in the next week
negotiations with Sir Watts in Brussels. (end) S.K.
[03] OPERATION tRETURNv FINISHED
Velika Kladusa, July 4, 1996 (Press TWRA)
By ceremonious landing of the flags of the countries-members of a tripartite commission - BH, Croatia and
Turkey - the action named tReturnv has been officially concluded in Velika Kladusa. During a 7-month lasting
action, police forces enabled return of 18.000 refugees to Velika Kladusa from the camp of Kuplensko where
they have been sheltered since summer 1995. tWithin this mission, by the activity of the joint police forces from
the three countries, we ensured conditions for a safe life and work to all citizens who returned to their homes and
also showed to the international community that police units in whole Europe form a united system and are able
to successfully fulfill all police duties, no matter of actual political differencesv, Minister of Internal, Avdo
Hebib stated, after expressing thankfulness to Turkish and Croatian Ministers of defense. Some 1.200 refugees
have still remained in the camp who should decide, during the next week, where to go, Croatian Minister Jarnjak

[04] IKEDA AND KLESTIL ABOUT BH

After his visit to BH, Japanese Foreign Minister Yukihiko Ikeda met in Vienna with Austrian President, Thomas
Klestil. The situation in BH was the main topic of their negotiations. Japanese Minister also said he considered
the forthcoming BH elections as very important, hoping they would be successfully implemented. Austria and
Japan are sharing the same opinion concerning the importance of IFOR presence in BH in order to ensure the
stability in the region. Ikeda informed Austrian President about a sum of 35 million $ (out of 130 million $)
offered to BH Government as a help that Japanese government allotted to BH for this year. (end) S.K.
