NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ BIljana Plavsic, on the occasion of the St. Peter's Day /Petrovdan/ and finishing of the school year, the children in the accommodation centre in Misin Han near Banja Luka and gave them sweets and clothing. "I have used Petrovdan to return the visit to children and to get informed is their living standard improved and how successful they were in the school" - stated Mrs. Plavsic for SRNA, adding that RS Government has undertaken the activities on disbanding all collective accommodation centres in RS, and so this in Misin Han, where still live 62 persons, i.s. 16 families.

PRIJEDOR - The president of the Presidency and vice-president of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ Dragan Kalinic and Momcilo Krajisnik informed in Prijedor the members of the municipal boards of the party in Prijedor region about the situation in SDS and performed the consultations about the impending electoral activities. "We are very encouraged with what we have found in the party basis. The people are committed for keeping the unity of the party and united in the attitude that interest of the party is over the individual interests", stressed Kalinic. Krajisnik said that SDS in pre- electoral campaign wants to inform the people about the facts in reality in RS and to show on what are working the current authorities, which, as he said, has usurped the power from majority and established the power of minority.

BANJA LUKA - The minister of Defence of RS Manojlo Milovanovic has congratulated fifth anniversary of the Centre of Military Schools of RS Army /VRS/ "Rajko Balac" in Banja Luka, stressing that the war is over and that attendants of the centre have to learn the necessary knowledge and military skills. The commander of the Centre general Radomir Cavic, at the appropriate festivity, has highlighted the role of pupils of this school in the past war, especially at Bihac and Dubica theatres of war, reminding that for the Freedom of the Serbian people and creation of RS their lives gave 21 member of the Centre, between which the then commander Rajko Balac.

DOBOJ - The great church holiday Petrovdan was marked in Doboj's COngregational Church by the holy liturgy, Communion for believers and breaking the holy bread /cake/. After the holy service was chosen the Godfather for the next St.patron's day, and along with the singing of the chorus of priests of the Church municipality Doboj was performed the three- cross walking around the Doboj's sacred temple dedicated to two Christ's apostles Peter and Paul.

SREBRENICA - By the holy arch-priest's liturgies in Srebrenica and Potocari churches and requiems and visits of monuments of Serbian war veterans and civilians in Bratunac, Bilaci, Sase and Zaladjaj in Srebrenica started the marking of Petrovdan - the Day of the municipality. On the occasion of the Day of municipality last night in the Home of Culture in this city was opened the exhibition of icons in carving of Todor Vlaca and paintings of academic painter Goran Gataric and five amateurs from Srebrenica and Bratunac.

SARAJEVO - The municipal board of the Party of Democratic Action /SDA/ of Kupres has accused the leadership of the Croatian Democratic Community /HDZ/ in this city that it is obstructing the implementation of the results of local elections and demanded the replacement the party leaders and chiefs of municipality, reports the radio in federal part of Sarajevo. In the letter sent, in the name of expelled people from this city, the municipal board of SDA to the Provisional electoral commission and OSCE office in Livno is stated that Moslems have got at elections three delegate seats in the Council of municipality, but that the representatives of HDZ did not consult them in allocation of leading posts and have brought these decisions alone.

SARAJEVO - The weather was differently reflected on the agricultural works throughout RS in Semberija the wheat harvesting was decelerated, while the weather conditions are favourable for works in Ljubinje region, and regarding the market surpluses, they will also be different in various areas of RS. Because of unfavourable weather conditions the wheat harvesting in Semberija was slowed down, so on 13,262 hectares of sowed lands the harvesting was performed on 6,600 hectares or 50%. LJUBINJE - Under the auspices of international humanitarian organisation "The New Bridge", in Ljubinje was held the concert of the rock group from South Africa Republic, which has presented to the youngsters of Ljubinje their two albums, and at the repertoire were also songs of famous worlds performers.

BANJA LUKA - The Main Board of the Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ has decided at the session in Banja Luka to resolve the former premier of Republika Srpska /RS/ Gojko Klickovic from the duty of the director of directorate of SDS. At the press conference the president of the Presidency of SDS Dragan Kalinic did not state who will perform this duty after Klickovic. Kalinic stressed that the pre-electoral campaign of SDS will start on July 19, and that for that purpose Main Board has nominated the Electoral Board for leading the campaign for impending elections, which will be headed by Dragan Kalinic, and his deputy Dragan Cavic.

PRISTINA - In the last night's of Albanian terrorists at the police check- point near the place Streoc on the road Pec-Decani, that has happened around 18,00 was killed the policeman Dejan Mihajlovic [27], and heavily wounded policeman GOran Stojanovic, who was transported into the Pec's hospital.

BELGRADE - The president of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic and the leader of the Democratic Party /DS/ Zoran Djindjic agreed in Podgorica that "the non- functioning of the state and political institutions one of the main causes of the overall crisis in the society". In the announcement of DS forwarded to SRNA is stated that Djukanovic and DJindjic have talked about the escalation of terrorism in Kosmet and more and more difficult situation in the country.

BELGRADE - The attempts on the daily basis of invading heavily armed Albanian terrorists from the neighbouring Albania on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija represent the best proof for what peacemaking policy are Albanian extremists both from Kosmet and Albania - is assessed in the statement of the Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ forwarded to SRNA. Condemning the western powers for not condemning terroristic raids of foreign citizens into the territory of FR Yugoslavia /FRY/, the Serbian radicals are stressing that it is the "best confirmation of the tacit accordance of the most powerful states of the world to perform the secession of the part of territory of the Republic of Serbia by the attempts of Albanian secessionists and terrorists".

BRUSSELS - The ministers of the foreign affairs of EU will talk tomorrow in the framework of the two days session in Brussels about the situation in Kosmet - reports DPA. As announced, the ministers will demand the full freedom of movement of the monitoring mission in Kosovo and Metohija, giving permission for entering the humanitarian organisations into the region and unimpeded return of refugees.

MOSCOW - Russia will from the International Monetary Fund /IMF/ and the World Bank get the credit amounting 12,5 billions of US$ for overcoming the economic crisis - reports DPA calling upon the writing of "New York Times". This was concluded after the more hours negotiations between the Russian premier Sergey Kirienko and representatives of IMF in Moscow, about what the Russian government did not give more details. It was said that the "talks were successful".

BELFAST - In the North Ireland county ANtrim, with the majority Protestant population, this morning was killed three children of the age seven to ten years in arson - reports DPA from police sources. The analysts deem that the direct cause for this crime is the ban on march of Protestants - the members of the Orange Order in the Northern Ireland.

WASHINGTON - Every second American thinks that the media informing in U.S.A. is incorrect or false - is the result of the poll conveyed by the American weekly "News-week". About 77% of asked think that the journalists in U.S.A. are under the pressure because of the profit of agencies where they are employed. According to the allegations of "News-week", the confidence of Americans in media was reduced on the lowest possible level.
