NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) condemns a new decision made by the Republika Srpska Government on replacement of the professor of the Banjaluka University ScD Vojin Mejakic. "Because they are violating all regulations and ignore common sense we will not hesitate to ask for the Government's replacement", is said in a statement signed by the chairman of the Party Presidency, Aleksa Buha.

DOBOJ - The RS Government should work on a financial-social position of workers, in order to prevent strikes and protests, stated for SRNA in Doboj the RS Union of Syndicates President Cedo Volas after the session with presidents of syndicate's regions from RS. According to him, the RS Government must solve material status of workers, must work on renewal of production in order to initiate for workers to live on their work, and not on a public welfare.

BANJALUKA - The SFOR spokesman Chris Kinswily announced for the April 11 a marathon race, at which 450 soldiers will participate. At a press- conference he explained that the SFOR soldiers would pay in for the race 15 DM as well as all paticipants from Banjaluka and the money will be donated to the Rehabilitation Centre "Miroslav Zotovic" in Banjaluka.

PRISTINA - On the highway Pristina-Prizren near Suva Reka Albanian terrorists had fired at a car with five men on it and wounded the President of the Municipal Board of the Socialist Party of Serbia for Gora, Adem Gugna. A Gugna was shot in stomach and had been transferred to hospital where he was operated.

BANJALUKA - The Republika Srpska President Biljana Plavsic expressed conviction that Serbian people could solve national problem only with a complete democratisation of the Serbian region. In an interview with "Glas Srpski" the RS President said that the process "must be conducted through out the whole region of RS".

BRCKO - The RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik opened a department for wood processing in a private enterprise "Agrosideks" in Brcko, in which 640,000 DM has been invested. These financial assets are provided by the USAID with a term payment of three years and with interest 7,5%.

BANJALUKA - The RS Minister of Agriculture, Water management and Forestry Milenko Savic stated last year that the RS delegation during recent visit to Germany suggested establishing of economic cooperation between the two countries at the expert level. "Our experts should make a proposition for cooperation, which will be in accordance with and supplemented by experts from Germany. After that comes signing of an agreement on cooperation at the Ministry level", said Savic for the SRT.

GLAMOC - Regarding a conclusion of the SFOR military exercise "Dynamic Response '98" a joint meeting of all three armies in B&H was held in Glamoc at which a programme of demining in RS and FB&H has been discussed. The SFOR commander for the Southeast division Andrew Preangl said after the meeting that a Commission worked excellently and the both entities in B&H respected the Dayton Accord especially its military part.
