NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA - The meeting of the president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic with the High Representative of international community for B&H Carlos Westendorp scheduled for 16,30 h in Banja Luka was cancelled for 20, 30 h, because Westendorp's aeroplane could not land because of thick fog on Banja Luka aerodrome. Before the meeting with Mrs. Plavsic, Westendorp will talk with mandator for new government Mladen Ivanic at 19,00 h.

SARAJEVO - In Pale was promoted the Second Declaration on ceasing the procedure of the Hague Tribunal against Radovan Karadzic, which signed 15 members of SANU (Serbian Academy for Sciences and Arts/, 22 university professors, eight authors and nine Science Doctors, and it was blessed and signed by His Holy Highness Serbian patriarch Mr. Pavle. "We know that Mr. Radovan Karadzic is not guilty and we offered to international representatives to prove the truth in the judiciary institutions of Republika Srpska /RS/, which they did not accept" - reminded the president in the Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik at the promotion of declaration.

BIJELJINA - The residents of Lopare's villages Puskovac, Milino Selo and Tobut for the third time peacefully protested against members of U.S. division of SFOR, which do not respect their demands for repairing roads, damaged and destroyed by the heavy armoured vehicles of multi-national forces. At the protest rally was gathered around 100 citizens, who required urgent rehabilitation of roads, by means of covering with gravel and digging drainage on the roads.

BELGRADE - Although there remained only four days until expiring mandate of UNTAES in Srem-Baranja region the authorities in Belgrade are not undertaking anything to prevent the massive exodus of Serbs from that region - warns the Democratic Party of Serbia /DSS/. "Neither the data that only from the New Year's day until Serbian Christmas Croats in Beli Manastir expelled from their homes six Serbian families and harassed another 32, are enough for adequate reaction of the regime in Belgrade" - is said in the statement of DSS.

BELGRADE - In the Association for assistance for refugees in FRY until now signed up 238 refugees, mainly families and small number of individuals, who want to return back to their homes in the regions of former B&H, but small number out of them have intention to settle permanently in their place of origin. Mostly the motive for return is the wish to solve the issue of proprietary rights on apartment or house.
