NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - In Bijeljina will be held the continuation of the Inaugural session of National Assembly of Republika Srpska /NARS/ at which the delegates would choose the president, vicepresident and secretary general of the top republican legislative body. The Serbian Radio-TV /SRT/ will directly broadcast the continuation of the session from Bijeljina.

BANJA LUKA - The RS president Biljana Plavsic will meet in Banja Luka the High Representative of the international community Carlos Westendorp and, as expected, talk with him about continuation of Inaugural session of NARS, scheduled for January 12 in Bijeljina. After the meeting with Mrs. Plavsic, Westendorp will talk also with Mladen Ivanic who Mrs. Plavsic proposed for the mandator for composition of new government.

SARAJEVO - The deputy High international civil Representative in B&H Jacques Klein stated in Pale that he hopes that RS will get new National Assembly and Government "with which the international community could successfully cooperate". "In case if we have quorum we shall be able to continue. To the mandator Mladen Ivanic I told that this is the critic moment of Serbian history. The people need the leadership which is looking to the future. I am an optimist", said Klein.

BANJA LUKA - Did the documentary film "The breakthrough to the Balkans" by Dusan Acin from Belgrade, televised from Banja Luka studio of SRT on December 23 last year so much rocked the boat that the Office of the High Representative for civil affairs Carlos Westendorp had to send such a sharp threats and announce imposing international supervisor in this studio? One of possible reasons for such energetic reaction and negative stance towards this documentary film, in which using the archive material and authentic video tapes composed the story and chronology about events which accelerated the breakdown of the former Yugoslavia, is in the fact that in the Office of the High Representative in Sarajevo works certain Monika, the daughter of the "ustasha" emigrant Nikola Stedul from Zagreb,- write in the comment the journalist of SRNA.

NOVI SAD - The last accusations of the Moslem media that Serbs from RS are blocking the work of the joint organs, are contrary to return of refugees, break the implementation of Dayton agreement and wish to unite with Serbia, were ordered by the Party of Democratic Action in order to repeal RS and draw Serbs into unitary B&H - claims Novi Sad's "Daily news". The news reminds that in the third year of Dayton peace Moslem leader Alija Izetbegovic, although he is not sure that Serbs will be tricked by this game and again play the same old game of fraternity and unity of nations, he do not gave up.

VUKOVAR - The Ambassador of FR Yugoslavia in Croatia Veljko Knezevic announced the soon opening the general consulate of Yugoslavian Embassy in Vukovar and added that all the technical preparations were performed.

SARAJEVO - After almost two days interruption, the telephone links of Sarajevo-Romanija region with other parts of RS and world were established.
