NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SRPSKO SARAJEVO - The session of the Presidency of B&H, as is learned unofficially, at which would be talked about the Croatian proposal on establishing the special relations between Republic of Croatia and Federation B&H started this morning at 10 o'clock in the building of Electro-technical Faculty in Lukavica. The Presidency would also consider the proposals on joint passports and symbols.

SARAJEVO - The president of RS Government Velibor Ostojic stressed last night, while analysing the previous work of the Ministry of education, science and culture, that all three segments represent the basis of any, so also the society in RS. While being guest in the programming of Orthodox radio "St. John" Ostojic stressed that to these social fields, with 18,000 employees, must be paid maximal attention.

SARAJEVO - The minister of Traffic and Telecommunications Nedeljko Lajic reminded last night in the programming "The Government talks" of Orthodox radio "St. John" that in the period from 1992 until 1997 in RS was built and reconstructed around 100 kilometres of roads. "For works on enabling the railroad traffic was spent 24 millions of German marks, and in the course of this year started the works on building the railroad Bijeljina - Brcko -Samac started" - said Lajic.

AMSTERDAM - The representatives of international community have decided, in the temporary crisis in RS, to support RS president Biljana Plavsic because of her complaisance, because they believe that she could help in forming the unitary, whole and multi-ethnical state B&H with the joint government in Sarajevo and entities only on paper. In Helsinki citizens association in Hague already at the end of July was confirmed that international community in this moment only want to try, during its mandate in B&H, by all means to realise the plan about unitary state, by weakening as much as possible the institutions of entities, which would be reduced on simple administration regions.

SARAJEVO - The electoral appealing sub-commission of OSCE decided to take off second, fourth and sixth name from the party list of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ for impending parliamentary elections in Republika Srpska /RS/, and those names can not be substituted. According to the list of delegates of SDS for National Assembly of RS, at second place is Milovan Regoda, at forth Vojislav Maksimovic and on sixth place Borislav Bojic.

BANJA LUKA - The OSCE representative Johan Ferheiden confirmed at the press conference in Banja Luka that the Appealing Electoral Sub-Commission excluded from the delegate list of SDS Milovan Regoda, Vojislav Maksimovic and Borislav Bojic. "The candidates of SDS were taken of the list because yesterday in Eastern part of RS appeared posters of Radovan Karadzic, by what the electoral rules of PEC were violated", precisely stated Ferheiden,

VIENNA - In OSCE centre in Vienna was delivered 12,000 voter's ballots from citizens from the former B&H who are voting from abroad (in absentia) for the new RS Parliament, confirmed for SRNA the assistant minister of Foreign Affairs of RS Gordan Milinic. He stated that in this shipment was delivered around 26,000 of ballots from abroad.

SARAJEVO - The president in Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik came out with the stance that at the "Bonn conference for High Representative Carlos Westendorp should not be extended the authorisations which in some way could became a dictate". After the session of Presidency of B&H held in Serbian Sarajevo, Mr. Krajisnik confirmed that other members of Presidency were not against such stance of Serbian side, which thinks "that Westendorp can be only the interpreter of the Dayton Agreement, but not an arbiter".

BIJELJINA - The RS Army and Ministry of Internal Affairs /MUP/ as the equal factors of armed forces of RS made enormous efforts and gave lot of victims during the liberation war - stressed the general major Pero Colic while congratulating to members of MUP the St. Patron's day saint Archangel Michael. While reminding that the time in which we are "is in many things fateful for people and RS", Colic warned that VRS and MUP "as in war so now were together put in front of the temptation and test of historical maturity".

BANJA LUKA - The employees in Banja Luka bank - share's association Banja Luka energetically denied the assertions of Milorad Dodik /ISDP- independent social democrats/, which he said in the programming of Serbian radio-TV /SRT/ "Political marathon" , that he has not credit debt amounting 700,000 DEM in this bank.

BELGRADE - The director of the magazine "The International Policy" Ranko Petkovic assessed that the Dayton Agreement, which was signed on November 21, two years ago, "is still partly on earth, and partly in the air". The director of this papers in the statement for SRNA assessed that "the situation in B&H is not settled yet, neither on the level of Union nor in Entities, having in mind double authorities in RS, confrontation of partners in Federation B&H /FB&H/, and especially the impossibility of return of refugees into their homes and freedom of movement over the whole territory of Dayton's creature".

BERLIN - The German journalist Thomas Deichman in the new issue of the papers "Novo" concludes that the western media used framed trial against Serbian Borislav Herak in Sarajevo "in order to, who knows how many times, present Moslems as victims and Serbs as atrocious beasts". Deichman reminds on the report of the journalist of "New York Times" George Barn, who first had talked with indicted Herak, and the fact that more hours talks were held in the Moslem military prison in Sarajevo under the control of their policemen.

STOCKHOLM - The former High Representative for civil affairs in B&H Carl Bildt sent the sharpest critics to E.U., U.S.A., and former and today's authorities in FR Yugoslavia, Croatia and B&H assessing that "they are the main culprits for development of tragic events in the former Yugoslavia, and especially in B&H". Bildt, at the promotion of his book "At the peace task" in the Institute for international policy in Stockholm, accused the Hague Tribunal because, as he said, for expelling and killing Serbs in Croatia nobody appeared at the list of war criminals.
