NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The President of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic talked in Banjaluka with the UN General Secretary special envoy for Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) Kai Eide about the Serbian police reconstruction. After the meeting Eide emphasised that he had, during his staying in the USA and in a several European countries, asked financial aid for training and equipping of the Serbian police.

BIJELJINA - The RS Government decided, at the regular session in Bijeljina, to hand over the bill of the law for enterprises on adopting procedure in the RS National Assebly.

SARAJEVO - After the meeting between the Republika Srpska Deputy Minister for Economic Relations With Foreign Countries Slavisa Rakovic with the representatives of the Advising Agency for Foreign Investment, Rakovic stated that the RS Government is interested to enter the project of founding an Investment Agency for RS from January 1998.

BANJALUKA - The Serbian Radical Party in RS (SRS) President Nikola Poplasen estimates that SRS will, at the forthcoming parliamentary elections, win over 20 seats in RS parliament. According to his opinion nobody will have absolute majority in the new RS parliament. He announced SRS readiness to cooperate with all parties which have patriotic and democratic attitude and added "that these parties will be selected by theirs actions and not by theirs words".

LJUBINJE - The member of the Serbian Democratic party Main Board and the Serbian Sarajevo Mayor Mirko Sarovic stated in Ljubinje that the RS President Biljana Plavsic had imposed the forthcoming parliamentary elections and that these elections are not a reflection of SDS and the National Assembly (NA) wishes. "Mrs. Plavsic fulfills wishes of the International community which attempts to achieve the revision of the Dayton Agreement through back door because of International community estimations that the autonomy level of RS which is "to high" paralyzes integration of RS into B&H" - said Sarovic at the SDS pre-election tribune.

BANJALUKA - The Head of the section for control and prevention in the RS Customs Administration Vojin Bera warned, at the press conference in Banjaluka, all importers on harsh customs measures and conditions, prescribed by the Croatian Government, at the border crossings in Stara Gradiska and Slavonski Brod. According to customs directives, crossing of the passengers from RS to Croatia runs 24 hours a day, and the transition of goods goes between 7.00 - 19.00 hours.

BRCKO - The Associations of Veterans, Families of the Dead Soldiers and Disabled Veterans warned that among B&H Federation delegates in Municipal Assembly (SO) in Brcko are war criminals which had participated in mass slaughters of Serbs. According to this Associations statement among them are notorious Alija Denjagic and Ivan Krndelj which slaughtered scores of imprisoned Serbian soldiers and civilians.

DOBOJ - After the November 10 action of disarming the Fifth unit of the special police of RS Ministry of Internal Affairs in Doboj, leaders of this municipality interrupted all contacts with the SFOR - it is emphasised in the executive board President announcement.

VISEGRAD - At the constitutional session of the SO Visegrad, the SDS candidate Aleksandar Savic is elected for the President, and the SRS candidate Ranko Simic is elected for the executive board President. The executive board Vice-President is the SDS delegate Slavisa Miskovic and the secretary of the municipal parliament is the SRS candidate Boro Ninkovic.

ZVORNIK - The President of the SDS Municipal Board in Zvornik Stevo Radic notified the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in this town Freedolin Gigaher that the SDS is after the seizing of the Serbian Radio Television (SRT) transmitter in media blockade.

KOTOR VAROS - The result of the International community efforts to divide Serbian electoral body is registration of many political parties, coalitions and independent candidates for forthcoming parliamentary elections - warned the SDS main board member and the SDS municipal board President Nedeljko Djekanovic.

KOTOR VAROS - The Organisation of Serbian Chetnicks "Ravna Gora" warned that early parliamentary elections "which are scheduled under western dictate, representing an attempt of the new world order creators to debilitate the political forces which are committed to one aim, to preserve RS".
