NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The member of the Provisional Electoral Commission /PEC/ from Republika Srpska /RS/ Slobodan Kovac confirmed for SRNA that PEC approved the electoral results for another six municipalities in RS - Gradiska, Krupa na Uni, Srpski Sanski Most, Gacko, Jezero and Osmaci. Kovac reminded that until now for 25 municipalities in RS were accepted the electoral results of September's local elections. According to him, PEC accepted his requirement to review and check the electoral results for the Serbian municipality Vukosavlje, because of noted illogically presented data. In all these municipalities the parties from RS have the absolute majority in relation to the parties from Federation B&H /FB&H/. The Serbian coalition of Fatherland won at the elections in Petrovac and Grahovo, municipalities in FB&H.

SARAJEVO - The co-presiding of the Council of Ministers and the minister for civilian matters and communications of B&H Boro Bosic and Spasoje Albijanic acquainted the Chinese Ambassador in Sarajevo Wen Xingua with the political situation in Republika Srpska /RS/ and problems in work of the joint institutions of B&H. After the meeting Bosic stated that the common assessment is that the exit from the current political crisis in RS lies in the impending parliamentary and presidential elections in RS. "We absolutely agreed that we can not talk about survival of RS because it is one of the corner stones of Dayton Agreement and Constitution of B&H", stressed the co-=presiding of the Council of Ministers, assessing that the problems in FB&H are significantly greater than in RS.

SARAJEVO - The collective of the Serbian Radio-TV /SRT/ from the Serbian Sarajevo sent the open letter to the world's public, requiring from the international community to return the occupied transmitters and enable the continuation of the broadcasting the programming. "Contrary, we are ready to reach for the democratic means of fighting, and on the today's meeting unequivocally was brought the decision that already tomorrow, if the blockade were not lifted, we start the general strike" - is the message of the Collective of SRT from Serbian Sarajevo in the open letter to the international community. The letter was sent to the High Representative of the international community for B&H Carlos Westendorp, the commander of SFOR Eric Shinseki, the chief of OSCE mission Robert Frowick, and special UN representative for the civil affairs Jeffrey Beaumont and representatives of the member countries of Contact Group.

SAMAC - The participants of the protest rally in Samac required from the international organisations to respect the right of the inhabitants of RS on freedom of media expressing and from SFOR to stay within the framework of Dayton Agreement. Besides the great number of citizens, at the protest rally because of usurpation of the transmitters of SRT participated the delegate in the National Assembly of RS Stanko Pivasevic and the president of the Municipal Assembly of Samac Mirko Lukic, and the representatives of the Serbian Democratic party and Serbian Radical Party.

SARAJEVO - U.S.A. is considering the possibility to broadcast the programming of the US TV-stations through the four usurped transmitters of SRT - reports the Moslem radio calling upon the statement of the spokesman of U.S. state secretary James Folly to the Radio "Free Europe".

BANJA LUKA - The leadership of the illegal Ministry of internal affairs loyal to the president of RS Biljana Plavsic performed the additional illegal cadre changes in the Centre of the Public Security in Prijedor, Novi Grad and Kozarska Dubica.

CLEVELAND - "The New York Times" warns that the accelerated secret arming and training of the Moslem army with the aim of undertaking the offensive against RS and concludes that "it is no more the question will Moslems start the offensive but when they will do that". Unnamed high official of NATO stated for this reputable American daily that "only the extending the mandate of the international troops in B&H can prevent that Moslem plan". The officials of NATO concluded that "Moslems are very busy with development of the military machinery, while Serbs are faced with the struggle for power, lack of financial resources and other problems".

VUKOVAR - The Executive Board of the Independent Democratic Serbian Party required from the president of Croatia Franjo Tudjman to "influence the state media in Croatia which in last days more and more frequently are attacking the leader of this party Vojislav Stanimirovic and president of the Joint Council of the municipalities Milos Vojnovic".

VUKOVAR - The mandate of UNTAES will from January 15 have different form and the further presence of the international community in Srem-Baranja region will depend on the following events and fulfilling undertaken obligations of the Croatian Government - stated in Vukovar the UN deputy Secretary General Sedi Anabi.
