NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska /NSRS/ Dragan Kalinic talked in Pale with the chief of the Office of International Commission for missing persons Erwin Bohi about solving problem of missing persons. Special care has been paid to the previous work of the state commissions of both entities on searching for missing persons, along with stressing the need for unconditional releasing of all POWs. As said in the statement from the Cabinet of the president of NSRS, at the meeting were discussed the modalities of establishing the special fund for social aid for the families of missing persons.

BRUSSELS - It is deemed in NATO that the military presence of this organisation in RS and Federation of B&H is necessary not only after expiring of the mandate of SFOR but also in the next millennium - SRNA finds out from the sources close to the Alliance. The same sources think that the best solution for keeping peace would be joining RS and FB&H in NATO, because in that case a minimum of troops would be needed to prevent the renewal of hostilities.

AMSTERDAM - The most important programme task of TVIN, known as Bildt's television, in 1997, is the total media coverage of RS and FB&H - it is concluded in the its programme of work. Since self-styled TV B&H, i.e. Moslem television, is not accepted by Serbs and Croatians and can't successfully cover the whole RS and FB&H, in the programming of TVIN is stressed the need that this international project should push aside the national centres in RS and Herceg-Bosna. In the programming document is assessed that mostly effective would be the emissions about the former joint life and renewed meeting of the common people of different nations, who during the war were separated.

PARIS - The newest U.S. anti-Croatian campaign, through writing of New York Times and Washington Post, is only the flagrant proof how is manipulated with information and how it is used in the daily policy. The most influential U.S. news in the last weeks write about the Croatian new- Naziism and fascism in Croatian Democratic Community, they conclude that Croatians are great genocidal people, who had their first apotheosis under Ante Pavelic, and second under Franjo Tudjman. They quoted almost exact number of Serbs killed by "ustashas" in the Second World War", shyly mentioning the Serbian martyrs from Western Slavonia and other parts of Republika Srpska Krajina, they are adding that Croats also were killing Moslems.

SKOPJE - In the cities in the South of Albania Girocastra, Pepelina, Berat, Sarandi and Valona armed gangs are carrying out the vandalism and attacking the citizens and until now they killed two policemen and wounded seven civilians - it is announced by Albanian media. Unanimous assailants killed in Valona two policemen and in last ten days was wounded more than 60 persons. The looting of arms was continued, and common insecurity of citizens is still present in the greater part of the country.
