MAY 2 1997 EVENING

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president from Republika Srpska (RS) in the Presidency of B&H, Momcilo Krajisnik, talked in Pale with the assistant charge d'affaires of the US Embassy to Sarajevo, Michael Parmly, on the implementation of the Vienna agreement on sub-regional arms control. Another meeting on a matter is arranged for tomorrow. The talks held in camera were attended by the RS prime minister Gojko Klickovic, the deputy minister of foreign affairs, Radomir Lukic, the RS Army liaison officer, colonel Milenko Indjic and the deputy minister of foreign affairs in the Council of Ministers, Dragan Bozanic,

SARAJEVO - The tendency of Bosniacs for outvoting dominates in the work of the joint bodies of B&H, which is in the opposition to the essence of the Dayton agreement, this was assessed at the meeting of the Presidency of the Serbian Democratic Party of Serbian Lands, which took place in Pale. While considering the Information on the work of the joint bodies of B&H, which was presented by the president from RS in the Presidency of B&H, Momcilo Krajisnik and the co-chairman of the Council of Ministers, Boro Bosic, the SDS Presidency pointed out that equality of the three peoples and the two entities is the condition for the survival of B&H.

SARAJEVO - RS minister of internal affairs Dragan Kijac and his associates talked with the IPTF commissar, Manfred Saitner and his team about yesterdays' events in Brcko that were provoked by an unannounced visit of citizens of the Federation of B&H, which was organised by the Social- Democratic Party of the FB&H. 'Just as was the case before, so this time it turned out that our warnings about unannounced visits from the other entity are the potential opportunity for provoking of incidents that neither can be avoided nor prevented', says a communique issued after the meeting attended by the members of the UN Mission to B&H and the representatives of the High Representative Office.

BRCKO - The Police Station in Brcko expressed its regret because of an incident which occurred on May 1, during a visit by a group of citizens of the Federation of B&H, pointing out the fact that the visit was not announced on time and that the procedure which was agreed to for such occasions was evaded in some of the important details. The communique issued by the Brcko Police Station and made available to the Serbian Press Agency - SRNA says that 'on May 1, at about 10:00 hrs, the supervisor, Robert Farrand, accompanied by two of his deputies, met the chief of the

Brcko Police Station, Andrija Bjelosevic and informed him that two buses with citizens of the FB&H, to be led by the president of the SDP of B&H, Zlatko Lagumdzija, will arrive the most probably in the city at about 12:30 hrs.

SARAJEVO - The RS minister of information, Svetlana Siljegovic, considers that the local elections in Brcko will be held at the time as in the other parts of RS, regardless of the fact that the Provisional Electoral Commission has postponed the decision on the matter for May 6. 'I do believe that Mr. Roberts Owen, who is lawyer and the presiding arbiter of the Arbitration Panel, will remind Mr. Robert Frowick, the president of the Electoral Commission, that Brcko is under the authority of RS, just as defined in the Dayton and Vienna agreements', stated Mrs. Siljegovic in a statement for SRNA.

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), Vojislav Seselj, assessed that the Americans are preparing themselves to fabricate the results of the forthcoming elections in B&H' and that is why 'the Serbs from RS have to be absolutely unyielding on the matter of Brcko, for without the city there won't be RS either', said Seselj at a news conference in Belgrade.

SARAJEVO - The RS minister of internal affairs, Dragan Kijac, talked in Pale with the first secretary of the US Embassy, Alfred Fonten, on the recently finished trial against seven persons from the Federation of B&H, who were sentenced by the Curt in Zvornik because of killings. It was stressed at the meeting that if a complaint is lodged then the District Court in Bijeljina is to make decisions.

SARAJEVO - Despite a great number of negative factors and pressures on RS by the international community, the current political and security situation is favourable, this was assessed at a meeting of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs staff, which was held in Pale. It was also pointed out that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) is founding itself in a very difficult material situation which brings the combat readiness of the personnel of the Ministry as a part of the RS armed forces, then the MUP's tasks in the implementing of the Dayton agreement, the planned re- organisation and the social status of the employed, into a question.

SREBRENICA - The bodies of four Serb civilians, who were brutally killed by Muslims in 1992, were exhumed and identified in the village of Medje, 30 km South of Srebrenica. The identified are: Novak (Vojislav) Djuric, his father Vojislav (Sime) Djuric, Radoje (Cvijetina) Jeftic and Krsto (Radovan) Petrovic.

BANJALUKA - The advisor to the RS president for economic affairs, Rajko Tomas, stated in Banjaluka that the postponement of the donor's conference should not be dramatised because it was not planned for the end of May. 'It is obvious that the international community wants to have a precisely defined economic system in B&H as a precondition for the future investing of money and it does not want to buy peace any longer', stressed Tomas.
