NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BIJELJINA - In Bijeljina started the Third Session of the Senate of Republika Srpska /RS/, convened by the president of RS Biljana Plavsic. After adopting the minutes from the First and the Second session, on the agenda will be the Agreement on special parallel connections between RS and FR Yugoslavia /SRJ/.

BRCKO - The president of RS Biljana Plavsic stated last night that "the city of Brcko and whole RS are ready for receiving the supervisor", after what is expected the realisation of the promise of international community on the economic rehabilitation of this city. "While waiting for Mr. Robert Farrand I wish to address the citizens of Brcko, and once again stress that their rights in this city in no way would be jeopardized nor led into question" - stated the president, after the talks with the municipal leadership.

BIJELJINA - The president of RS Biljana Plavsic stated, after the visit to the Aircraft Institute "Orao" in Bijeljina, that "while looking 'Orao', she sees the future of RS and its economic development". During the visiting the production plants of "Orao", which basic activity is the overhaul and production of turbo-jet engines and checking the measuring equipment, the president Plavsic expressed her conviction that the foreign economists will be interested for cooperation with this enterprise.

SARAJEVO - The co-presiding of the Council of Ministers of B&H Boro Bosic and the Japanese Ambassador to B&H, with the seat in Vienna, Yushi Takashima, signed in Sarajevo the agreement on non-returning aid of Japan for RS and Federation B&H /FB&H/ in amount of 30 millions of US dollars. The part of the donation of 25 millions of dollars will be used for the rehabilitation of the of power supplying system of RS and FB&H, on the relations Tuzla- Sarajevo, Sarajevo-Mostar, Gacko- Mostar and Visegrad Tuzla, via Brcko. For the renewal of power transmission lines in RS is anticipated the half of the resources. The rest of the donation of 7,8 millions of dollars will be spent for renewal of the motor pool of the company for city transportation "GRAS" in the Moslem part of Sarajevo.

AMSTERDAM - The Association of the Serbian war prisoners from the former Yugoslavia, before the beginning of the trial to indicted for crimes against Serbs in the Moslem concentration camp in Celebici required from the Hague Tribunal the status of the special observer, what was rejected by the Tribunal without appropriate rationale. In the Association such an act of the

Tribunal is explained as another confirmation of its partiality and unequal relation towards the former warred factions. The Association of the Serbian camp inmates is one of the main instigators of the indictment against perpetrators of crimes in the camp Celebici. By refusing to allot them the seat of 'amico scuria'- the special observer in the process, the court in Hague disabled the Association to have insight into evidence which is used in the trial, and by that the right to be included into the procedure of investigation and by its evidence to be included into the work of the Tribunal.

PARIS - The great European writer of the Austrian origin Peter Handke stated in an interview for the Parisian "Liberation" that he is ready to move to Banja Luka and live and work there. "Serbs in Bosnia shouldn't be left in isolation no way. That people must be seen and heard"- stated Handke in an interview on the occasion of the great interest in France called out by his last book "My year in the Bay of Nobody".

HAMBURG - The West from the very beginning of the crisis in Yugoslavia by its interventions prevented people to find their own peaceful solutions in the democratic way - claims the University professor from Newcastle Dave Chandler. He highlights that the Western institutions, by usurping the right of bringing the decisions instead of Yugoslavian central institutions, which must give the reckoning to the people in Yugoslavia, acquired the possibility of influence on the political events in the state. The Chandlers analytical review on the destructive role of the West in the past and in the present times is published in the last issue of the German political magazine "Novo" and represents the finishing of the series of the expert texts dedicated to the former B&H, on more than 20 pages of this magazine. While talking about the current situation and real status of the Dayton B&H, the author of the analysis concludes that this former Yugoslavian republic is under the full control of the foreign occupational power.

SARAJEVO - The head of the General Staff of the RS Army /VRS/ the major- general Pero Colic in his name and the name of the members of VRS congratulated the Day of the Republic to The Serbian president Slobodan Milosevic. "Let the harmony and unity, tolerance and love, diligence and wisdom, and the happiness and welfare for Serbian people" - it is said in the congratulation letter of Mr. Colic.

PODGORICA - The Government of Montenegro is decisive to give the full contribution to the development of FR Yugoslavia, as the democratic community of equal republics and nations. In the announcement of the Republican Secretariat for Information of Montenegro is stated that the Government on the late last night finished session in Podgorica concluded that "some statements of the government officials in overheated atmosphere could have make a political detriment for the interests of the republic".

PRISTINA - Unanimous assailants last night in the centre of Glogovac shot the car in which was the commander of the Police Station Svetozar Barjaktarevic. Mr. Barjaktarevic was not wounded in this attack, nor are the attackers which are being pursued still.

TIRANA - Since in Albania is still the chaos, OSCE gave the 'green light' for sending the foreign forces into this state, but this decision must be approved by the UN Security Council. In Tirana arrived the EU delegation, with the aim to reconstruct the Albanian army and police and establish the peace and order. The delegation was received by the Albanian premier Baschim Finno and the minister of Foreign Affairs Arjam Starova.

LIVNO - On the mosque in Grborezi, near Livno, was shot the rifle grenade, which caused the minor material damage on this object, but produced the unrest and fear between the remaining Moslems in Livno - reports the Moslem Radio Sarajevo, while calling upon the Moslem Press Agency MINA.

GORNJI VAKUF - In Bistrica near Gornji Vakuf last night for the third time was destroyed the house of the Middle-Bosnian parish priest Ivan Saric, which he wanted to restore but without success - reports the Croatian radio. The house is in the territory which is under the Moslem authorities, near the former demarcation line between the Croatian Council of Defence and Moslem Army.
