NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The co-president of the Council of Ministers of the Dayton B-H, Boro Bosic, received in Pale the charge d'affaires of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (BJRM) Embassy to Sarajevo, Nikola Neskoviski. No statements were given after the meeting.

KOTOR VAROS - While in working visit to the municipality of Kotor Varos, the vice-president of Republika Srpska (RS), Dragoljub Mirjanic, talked with local leaders on current economic and security situation in the area. The Kotor Varos mayor, Nedeljko Djekanovic, spoke about a possible accommodation for people from the Serb District of Eastern Slavonija, Baranja and Western Srem, who decide to leave the District.

SARAJEVO - The president of the RS National Assembly, Dragan Kalinic, held a consultative meeting with the RS Government premier and vice-premier, addressing the preparation of key documents, among which the Draft budget for 1997 and Proposal budget rebalance for 1996. They reviewed Information on the status of refugees and displaced persons.

SARAJEVO - The RS Government adopted Draft law on exchanges and amendments to Law on territorial organisation, and in that context, Draft law on the city of Banjaluka, defining the territory of the Banjaluka municipality. Within discussion about the strike of teachers in some Banjaluka's schools, they said the Government would, by the end of February, fulfil its obligations.

SARAJEVO - The RS foreign minister, Aleksa Buha, talked in Pale with OSCE Military Mission chief, Vigleik Eide, on further implementation of the military part of the Dayton agreement and the last stage of the arms reduction, which began last October. The chief of the OSCE Military Mission, expressed his concern over future security and safety in the region.

SARAJEVO - At a regular IPTF, SFOR and UNHCR joint press conference in Pale, IPTF report on events in Mostar from February 10 - in which the Croatian side is blamed for exercising "unjustified force against a group of Muslim believers, on which occasion one was killed and 32 persons were wounded" - was presented. SFOR representative, major Tony White, said the main culprits in the recent incidents in Mostar were "local authorities and unprofessional police officers of both Eastern and Western parts of Mostar, who failed for provide security for potential and real victims of a series of inter-ethnic violence".

HAMBURG - The forceful way, in which the USA are trying to implement its global economic and political interests exceeds the limits of endurance, assess the "Fraknfurther Rundschau". The paper writes that "the United States delay paying off the fee it is due to the United Nations, and blackmails the same organisation in order to further its goals".
