G.N.T.O. - Greek Islands

Paros is the third largest island of the Cyclades situated in the center of the complex. It is a flat island, full of vineyards and a very popular vacation spot, especially for the young, because of its active night life. At the capital and port of the island, Parikia, built on the site of the ancient city, is the famous church of Panagia Katopiliani or Ekatondapiliani, named after the its 100 gates. At the hill above the port lies the Castle of Parikia with the church of Christo. Naoussa is a very pretty village with traditional white houses, many churches, narrow alleys active night life, and as a result one of the summer attractions. Nearby is the beach of Kolibithres, where the wind and sand created stragely shaped rocks of remarkable beauty. But, Paros is full of wonderful beaches, each with its own characteristics like Livadia, Logaras, Mikro Piperi, Santa Maria, Megalo Piperi, Pounda, Pisso Livadi and Krios. One of the most popular beaches is Monastiri, which attracts many visitors every year due to its clear waters, beach bar and the variety of sea-sports available to the swimmers. Antiparos is a small island divided by a narrow channel from Paros and it is know for its wonderful picturesque beaches. The capital, Antiparos is built around the medieval castle, and not far away is the famous cave of Agios Ioannis and the Chapel of St John of the Cave.
