LATO CULTURAL EVENTS SUMMER TIME AG. NIKOLAOS A festival at Agios Nikolaos, with the participation of Greek and foreign music and dance groups, plays, exhibitions of Cretan craftsmanship, etc.

FISH-NIGHT OCTOBER ELOUNDA People are offered free sea food, fish, and wine.

"THE KIRVIA" JULY or AUGUST IERAPETRA A festival including music, dancing, theater, exhibitions of painting and photography.

FEAST-DAY OF HOLY CROSS 13 - 14 OF SEPTEMBER IERAPETRA The feast takes place on the mountains. After a night in the town, people start early in the morning for the church which is one hour and a half away from the settlement. After that they return to the mountains where the feast continues.

FEAST-DAY OF ST.PANTELEIMON JULY 27th IERAPETRA The fair takes places at Ori. The visitors, after a whole night out at various clubs, start, early in the morning of the celebration, to go to church which is an hour and a half away form the settlement. Then, they return to Ori and the fest carries on.

THE ASSUMPTION OF VIRGIN MARY AUGUST 15th IERAPETRA This traditional fair is held at Kendri.

KRITSA CULTURAL EVENTS 2nd FORTNIGHT OF AUGUST KRITSA A three-day festival, including a Cretan night, dancing, theater, children’s program and revival of the Cretan wedding.

TRANSFIGURATION AUGUST 6th KRITSA The fair takes place at “Katharo” plateau and it begins the night before, with dancing and Cretan music.

FEAST-DAY OF ST.THOMAS ST.THOMAS' SUNDAY MILATOS In the cave of Milatos there is a service, held for the victims of the Turks.
