ISTANBUL - ISTANBUL (A.A) - The Turkish Pharmacists Association
declared on Thursday that they hoped Turkey would act resolved in
fulfilling responsibilities to join the EU.

ANKARA - State Minister Kemal Dervis said that there cannot be another
economic crisis in Turkey but the administration, coordination and
several other things had to be changed to switch to fast economic
growth, during an interview with CNN Turk on Thursday night.
[03] TURKEY CONDEMNS SUICIDE ATTACK IN ISRAEL WHICH KILLED 17 PEOPLE
ANKARA - Turkey condemned the suicide attack near Haifa in northern
Israel which killed 17 people and wounded several others on Wednesday
morning.

OF BALKAN COUNTRIES
BRUSSELS - The Balkans Declaration that was released during NATO
defense ministers meeting on Thursday stressed the territorial
integrity of all the Balkan countries.

ANKARA - The Foreign Ministry declared on Thursday that a delegation
would go to Hatay after the Zeezon Dam in Syria collapsed recently
flooding some of the agricultural land in Hatay.

WASHINGTON - IMF'S External Relations Department Director Thomas C.
Dawson said on Thursday that the IMF Executive Directors Board meeting
on new tranche of loan to Turkey was expected to be held nearly two
weeks later.

ANKARA - Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that the part of the human
smuggling report published by the U.S. Department of State on Turkey
this year have errors pertaining to facts and defective information.

ANKARA - Repo transactions between banks and their customers decreased

ISTANBUL - The Banks' Association of Turkey (TBB) announced on Thursday
financial institutions which signed the Financial Reconstruction Frame
Agreement. It said that 24 banks, 13 financial institutions, the
Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF) and the Emlakbank which was
transferred to the SDIF signed the agreement as creditor institutions
[27] EXPORTS OF TEXTILES FROM BURSA PROVINCE INCREASE 7.2 PERCENT
BURSA - Exports of textiles from northwestern province of Bursa
increased by 7.2 percent, and exports of ready-made clothings rose by
16.8 percent in the January-May period of 2002.

ISTANBUL - A moderate earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale
