ANKARA, June 5 (A.A) - The Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday the document about Turkey which was prepared by the European Union (EU) Term President Germany, and submitted at the EU Summit in Cologne which ended yesterday.

Releasing a statement, the Foreign Ministry said that the document was prepared upon Turkey's approval.

According to the statement, the document, which was submitted at the summit, noted that the EU Council welcomes the Turkish government's determination in further improvement of all of the economic and political reforms necessary for fulfilling the Copenhagen criteria.

Pointing out that the EU Council welcomes especially the Turkish government's determination in strengthening its efforts for democratic and social reforms, and in bringing a constructive solution for the problems in the southeastern Anatolia, the document stressed that with this respect, the EU Council considers appropriate to include Turkey into participation process as a participant candidate on the basis of the European Strategy and invite her to the meetings to be held with other candidates.

The document underlined that the EU Council requests the Council and the Commission to continue to develop energetically the European Strategy to help Turkey prepare herself for participation; and to prepare a road map for necessary reforms to enable Turkey to fulfil the Copenhagen criteria and the provisions in Article 6 of the EU agreement till the EU Council Summit in Helsinki..

[15] PRESIDENT DEMIREL: - ''TRIAL OF A BLOODY MATTER WHICH CAUSED GRIEF IN TURKEY FOR 15 YEARS, IS BEING HELD. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY PROCEDURAL MISTAKE'' - ''NO ONE CAN INTERVENE IN JUDGE'S DECISION''

ANKARA, June 5 (A.A) - President Suleyman Demirel said on Friday, ''the trial of a bloody matter which caused grief in Turkey for 15 years, is being held. There should not be any procedural mistake in the trial.''

Demirel who received Yildirim Akbulut, the Speaker of Parliament, referred to the issue of the State Security Courts (DGMs) at the meeting.

Noting that there is not any issue for objection to the establishment of the DGMs, and the military judge has free will and conscience, Demirel said, ''There are international rules we are engaged to. We either never get engaged to such international rules, or fulfil our commitments if we are already engaged.''

Pointing out that concepts have been changed in the last five decades, and countries do not consider solidarity as intervention in the independence any more, Demirel added, ''Within this solidarity, we have to obey the European Court of Human Rights, and abide by its resolutions. This does not humiliate us.''

''Now, trial of a bloody matter which caused grave pains in Turkey for 15 years, is being held. There should not be any procedural mistake in the trial. No one can interfere in decision to be given by the judge. They can easily criticize us due to a procedural mistake, '' Demirel stressed.

He continued, ''I am sorry to say that several cases were accepted by the Court of Human Rights, and they found our acts wrong, but this trial cannot put up with it. This trial is the most important case of Turkey. Turkish people should not show any sign of disagreement on the issue. Thousands of people lost their lives within 15 years beause of terrorism. People of this country have remained devoted to each other without giving opportunity to eruption of a new Turkish-Kurdish dispute. Actually, the main reason for this problem is not to defeat Turkey's armed forces. It is not possible anyway.

But if they could succeed in creating a separation among people, the terrorist organization would have reached a result. But our nation did not allow such a separation. This is a praiseworthy fact.''
